The coils come with a recommended watt range. It's usually, but not always on the box. If not, then Google that particular coil. It's possible to go lower than the recommended range, but not higher. Start at the low end of the range and increase the wattage until you hit your sweet spot.

You are cutting Your battery life (per charge) by approximately 1/2. It's just simple math to understand that.
Also the coils could fry faster.
I understand that. The problem is the store I buy stuff from here in Europe doesn´t carry the 1.0 that goes with my tank anymore. They just have the 0.5 so I picked up a pack.

As Territoo said, start at a lower watt value and work up slowly until you're happy with it. Since you've cut the resistance in half, maybe start around 8 watts and go from there.

No, you DON'T need to get a "bigger" battery, but yes, the vape time before needing a charge will go down. Then again, one should always have backups. (Emphasis on plural ;) )

I run RTAs, and removeable battery mods. As long as the battery will last through a tankful, I'm fine. And easy to swap a fresh one in if needed. (If they don't make it, those get relegated to the "flashlight" battery box :) )

Then you'll need to double or increase your mah power of your battery to compensate.
Say from a 600mah to a 1200mah. Then all is equal. Cept you'll cause more vapor.
Likely with the decreased ohm-age your already seeing more vapor.

If someone wants to correct me, please chime in.
What batteries do you use that are only 600-1200mah?
    Typical 18650s we use are 20amp 3000mah.
I run a .5ohm build, simple round wire at 30 watts.
Easily lasts a full tank or more.

My point is just to do simple math to see what the effects will be,
It has nothing to do with what we are using.

    I'm diverting here, but...

Me personally I use a pen like unit (have 4 on hand and will never be w/o power.).
They are Vision, Spinner 2's and the power is adjustable from 800ish to 1800mah.
(I run in the middle power mode)
Then a clearomizer which holds 1 to 3 ml of fluid (depending on the style I choose)
It's totally satisfactory and blows clouds exceeding a real cig by 2 to 3x.
With 4, $12.oo batteries I'll never run out of power or vape.

    So....
I haven't done the math on these pieces but realize from past usage they are of adequate power and ohm'age.. Add to that, I don't have big $$$'s into these setups.

mAh capacity is determined by the maker, and is NOT adjustable. Voltage applied to the load, and hence the watts, IS adjustable with most modern devices. How high a voltage/wattage you dial up will affect how long you can vape before needing a recharge (or battery swap.)

Looking at some old Spinners (not v2 or later), they run from 3.2 to 4.8 volts. I have them in a few different mAh sizes. But, again, those "sizes" are from manufacturing.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Start at 15W and inch up from there. You want to vape it at a wattage that you'll enjoy at 0.5 ohms but also need to be high enough wattage that the coil won't flood./gurgle. If you like the vape at say 20W on that 0.5 ohm coil, but after a while you get flooding/gurgling, you're gonna have to increase the wattage whether you like it or not.
