I went from being a heavy smoker to become a heavy vaper (probably a 1000 puffs per day) after a couple of months doing both. In the end stinkies didn't taste good so I stopped smoking completely. Then I vaped 24mg/ml. Now I've been off for four months and are down to 12mg/ml. I still get cravings on analogues from time to time, usually in stressful times, but then I just vape very hard, and it'll pass.
Stay off them stinkies! :)

I've been vaping for almost five months and was one of those who was able to stop smoking immediately. However the past few weeks it seems like every day I think about buying a pack of smokes but I keep telling myself I only want one cigarette not 20, so its not worth it. Everyone I know who smokes, knows I vape and I don't want to come off like it doesn't work so I don't bum from them either. Still haven't bought that pack and I'm just waiting out the occasional cravings. They aren't nearly as bad as they were when I smoked, I do think its a behavioral thing. Cigarettes are more immediately satisfying. But despite the cravings the devil on my shoulder can't convince me the smell or taste or cost would be worth it.

cravings happen man.. its natural... I went about 7 months without a single craving.. and then it starting hitting me.. started bumming smokes occasionally off of friends, but it still didn't really satisfy me, in fact i felt way more guilty in the end and most of the time it got my sick to my stomach..

just keep sticking with it and like others have probably stated.. keep a higher nic level with you just in case..

I always use 12mg but for a couple months I bumped up to 18mg when I was dealing with some stress just to make sure I didn't fall back into smoking.. its just not worth it in the end.

Well I've been smoking for over 30 years. I started vaping in January cut down to like a pack every 3 days then down to every 4 days then down to 1 or 2 cigs a day and now I've put them down all together it's been over a week. I still have cravings but just grab my MVP and start puffing when they are at their worst. It helps to use juices that you really like and appeal to your taste buds. I love fuzion vapors and also get the zample box monthly.

I had the same thing... still do... what worked for me was getting a cigalike form factor and only using it when I had a craving or when I would normally smoke... like driving, on the phone, with morning coffee, etc. For me it was an Eroll loaded with high nic (24 or 36.) but it was strictly to get a really strong throat hit resembling a smoke and I also vaped menthol for added TH. Eventually, not vaping on those any other time, my brain got programmed to accept it as a smoke. Nic is not the problem for me... I've proven that using zero nic... its 58 years of (psychological/obsessional) habit and TH. So now I happily vape my big setups most of the time but use my Eroll to replace smoking.

Edit: If you try my method.. taste of tobacco flavors along with menthol or without it are ideal... the Eroll tends to mute flavor and it comes out pretty close to what a smoke tastes like. Actually, I think that's exactly what it was designed for.

I don't really get cravings for them. When I first started I vaped at 18 mg and shortly after that made te switch to 12. I do crave them after I dream about them.

Not it's become such a hobby for me that I'm always looking at new vape gear and wanting more stuff that I don't ever think about cigs.

It does get better and easier. Just keep with it. I have had one since I switched to vaping and it tasted awful and the throat hit was non-existent. I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience.

I get cravings. Improving my gear has helped. I bought a Vision Spinner because I was stuck on duty for 10 hours this past weekend and my crappy generic ego died. I didn't have a way to charge it so I bought a pack of smokes. Smoked half that pack that day and into Sunday, then gave the rest to my wife. I was at two weeks quit before, but I've climbed back on the wagon. Vaping is a God-send... I'm not afraid of smoking a cigarette because I know I can smoke just one. Thing is... I don't even need that one so I don't smoke it. The first few days I quit (a few weeks ago) I kept a pack on me. It was like a game to see how long I could go without grabbing one. In a couple of days I wasn't smoking at all so I gave it to my wife.

You'll get cravings, but vape through them. I still do for sure, but they're getting fewer and further between. I hope to be off of vaping this time next year but I'm not gonna rush it.

Great answers and Great feedback! I am not craving them enough to give in. I think sometimes I miss the immediate calm effect they had on me. I started with 24 nicotine the 1st week and then 18 for the next month. I started to feel nausea and shaky and realized the 18 was suddenly too high nic and now I am vaping 12 exclusively. for the past 3 weeks. I think I will follow the advice in this forum and keep some 18 on hand for when I do want an analog and see if that feeling goes away.
What I was really wondering is after 6 months or 1 year do you ever stop wanting an analog and a few answered that in this forum by saying even after several years sometimes you just want one. I still have several packs laying around (my safety net) but I have not had an analog in 2 months and I intend to keep it that way. Funny just knowing I have them If I did want one helps, when I get a craving I tell myself they are there and not going anywhere and just wait and then I forget all about them for a few days.
I also noticed If I get a really strong craving that if I put in a new coil and get that great throat hit and then the craving goes away.

My favorite flavor is hazelnut coffee from Mt. Baker and I am going through coils quickly but so worth it.

Today is my one month anniversary of being smoke free and I still have the occasional urge--not a craving. It's usually at lunch time, walking past a smoker or group of smokers who really look like they're enjoying their cigarettes. I just pull out the vape and keep going, but the thought is there...

I did have a moment of weakness about ten days in. It was a bad vape day--things just weren't at their best--and I actually stopped at a gas station (I didn't need gas), but when I asked for a pack of my brand the clerk said they were out--did I want ultra lights or mediums instead? I took that as a sign and walked away empty-handed. (Yay me!)

I just binged on Mad Men and I sure smoked a lot of imaginary cigarettes.

I know rite, I love that show smoke where ever you want whenever you want, drink do the neighbors wife, the bosses wife, whoevers wife lol I love all the old commercials, news and mag. adds its like being a young man again to hear the names of products from my youth. I remember being able to smoke anywhere I wanted. It was like the end of life as I knew it when they said no more. I'm glad I don't have to worry about needing a place to smoke anymore I just hope it doesn't end up like that for vaping. rite now I do it where ever I want whenever in stores, hospital, my customers so far no one has asked me not to.

I quit smoking by vaping 2 months ago. I find many days I still want an analog. How long if ever did it take you to not want that analog. The cravings are not real strong but sometimes I just want one. I am thinking I am past the addiction other than nicotine which I feel satisfied with with the vaping. Maybe psychological?
I also find it weird I can vape on break at work and feel fine after a few vapes but at other times no matter how long I stand there vaping It is not enough.
When I switch to a new coil it is great that 1st vape but then goes away until I change out to another new coil.
Any thoughts, maybe it is just me.

I've been off analogs since February 6th. Haven't slipped up yet but I have had a couple fleeting moments where I felt like a good drag on a Marlboro Mild would feel wonderful. I think you have a point about new coils. Most of the clearomizer stuff out there is garbage in terms of what they offer for coils. I've heard of people going weeks but my longest was about 7 days before changing one out.

I just changed over to the Kayfun RBA last week and holy smokes (or vapes in this case), it's a whole new world. Taste is insane!!

Good luck. Hang in there!!

After 43 years of smoking I've been analog free for six weeks. I have to say that I really don't miss smoking. I'm very surprised that I'm not laying on the floor, rolling around in a pool of flop sweat (to graphic? ) I really feel that if not for PV's that I would still be smoking and probably would until my terminal breath, or cough...wheeeezzzzzz......

I'm on my fifth week of no analogs. I get the urge everyday, but just vape on. Still using 24mg but slowly going to 18mg. I'm in no hurry as long as I'm not smoking who cares. It's not the nicotine it's just having that damn cancer stick in your hands and pulling in a big puff of smoke. (For me anyway)

I smoked for 20 years and quit at the absolute worst time. The week before my one and only daughters wedding. I could have ate a pack walking down that aisle but pulled through somehow. I miss smoking but love not stinking, and this being able to smell thing is kind of neat.
