Quit analogs for vaping almost a year ago and slipped back into smoking.

I got my Ego-T on April 7th, 2011 and immediately switched to vaping. I still had a few cigarettes but I didn't even want them. I tried to smoke a few days to a week after I started vaping and it was the most disgusting thing ever. I just described it to my friend as "it tasted like a camel had rubbed its anus into an ashtray and then then its ... hairs were then rolled into a cigarette that I lit up and inhaled." I would occasionally grab a drag off a friend's cigarette just to remind myself that it was awful but never really craved one. I was a pack a day smoker for years, and I started smoking when I was 12, and I switched like it was nothing as soon as I started vaping. It was incredibly easy.

But then recently if I was drinking I would bum cigarettes from friends. If I was drunk and hanging out with smokers I started smoking, and then that progressed to me not wanting to be that one who said they quit smoking but would still take cigarettes from everyone else. So then I bought a pack. Then I bought another pack. And it's probably been about a month now. I have about half a pack in my purse but I'm starting back on my ecig tonight. I'm finding it to be harder to not go outside and have a smoke break after slipping back into it. I'm not feeling as stubborn as I was when I first quit.

Has anyone else slipped back into smoking after vaping? Was it harder for you to quit analogs again?

Hello amanada, i just started my vaping on september 2011, started with ego, and then due to limited battery time consumption, i switcheed back to smoking analogs....then i browsed the net, and encountered many seller in malls, and made to me back vaping again, untill now. Depends on the style youre vaping, either drip type or tank type. Coz i'm a heavy vaper, so i need tanks to compensate my needs for smoking. And almost 2-3 packs a day when in analogs, and other personal reason that made me switch back to vaping, due to my wife hassles of smells of the analogs. And of course theres many types of juices you can desire, from fruits, gummy bears, even dessert. And probably you experienced burn after taste due to dried atomizer, which indicated need more dripping. Or use tank for less hassle.
Hope it help you amanada

It wasn't harder to do, but it was harder to want to. I had to build my enthusiasm back up, and in my personal case it took some new gear to get me going again. Of course your starting gear is more like what I upgraded to than what I started with, but I think shiny new toy allure definitely helped get me excited about vaping again back then. I hang out around smokers a lot, usually at bars, and I do it with my provari in hand the whole time now with no urge to grab a cigarette.

Not saying new toys are the way to go for everybody, but for a big gadget head like me it definitely helped push me over the hump. Wouldn't have to be a new PV, maybe just some acessories you haven't tried before, some flavor samples of new juice, etc. Might be worth a try.

I never had any problems with vaping besides dropping my ecig and breaking my favorite drip tip which is easily replaceable. I did start to dislike the tanks because the atomizers start to taste burnt no matter how I cleaned them. I prefer dripping. And I LOVE buying new juices though nothing so far can top BS341 from unsmoke. It was mostly just a matter of drinking on the weekends and being around smokers. My inhibitions were down and they were appealing if I was drunk. I use higher nicotine liquids too-anywhere between 18-24 mg. I was never one to smoke first thing in the morning anyway, so I don't think I crave the nicotine so much as the habits of smoking. After a couple days of refusing to smoke I think I will be right back into the habits of vaping instead. I just have to make myself get that far.

When I go drinking, I take a PV with a tank of a juice that has a good, solid throat hit and a non-sweet flavor (my present variety is a blend of Backwoods Brew's "Nutty" with some Liberty Flights almond PG, neither of which are sweet juices), and I tend to use a VV mod that gives me a warmer vapor. This gives me all of the sensations which I got while I was smoking (the throat hit, the non-sweetened flavor, the warmth of the hit), and so I just really don't WANT the cigarettes. Others can smoke around me, but I'll stick with what I have. Finding a combination that works like that for you might be the trick.

If you want to go take a smoke break, take a vape break instead. I certainly do. My boss doesn't think any worse of me for doing it. Frankly, I think he's glad I don't smell like an ashtray (my boss is a nonsmoker).

In other words: you can keep the trappings of the analog habit that you enjoyed, without actually having the chemical intake of a cigarette. There is no harm in doing that, and if you enjoyed those rituals and trappings (which most of us do or did), by all means, continue them. Just translate them into a different format, one which is less carcinogenic.

Quitting smoking is hard, PERIOD. Drinking and stress have always been my downfall with Vaping. I fell off the wagon for a year and quit Vaping for the most part. Finally, my health got so bad, from smoking, I had to make a change again. You just have to remember, cigarettes are poision, nothing more, nothing less. It may be difficult sometimes, but take it from someone who's been there, you don't want to go back to analogs.

I wish you the best in your ongoing attempt to leave the analogs alone.
