here is an article i found interesting
THE ACTIONS OF NICOTINE ON CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
i am proud you switched, i don't support bt either.

I don't get why you sited this.
quote:
...<snip>.... established confident correlations of the action of this drug with central levels. For this reason it has not been possible to consider its actions on the basis of a strictly neuroanatomical outline.
.....<snip>.....and not cause paralysis of the "center" of salivation. Although suggestive of the need for further investigation and the line which such investigations might take, these studies do not help greatly in localizing the neurophysiological mechanisms involved.
....<snip> ....non-specific effects upon the general health of the animal. There does not yet seem to be any conclusive evidence, either in animals or in man, of a specific effect of nicotine upon learning.
.....<snip> Therefore, it is doubtful that these experiments on sensorimotor functions gave results that offer indication of the actual pharmacological action of nicotine.

The article goes on and on like that... no conclusion... no results... speculations only....

THE ACTIONS OF NICOTINE ON CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
your nervous system is weakened, which is a major part of who you are as a person
Nervous system - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From the very first paragraph of your article:

However, studies of the central nervous actions of nicotine have not yet fully established confident correlations of the action of this drug with central levels.

In a previous post you argue another person's link for using the word "may," then you post this? Holy double-standards, Batman! You're not much fun to argue with.

AHA! I figured out your addiction! You are addicted to drama, it's a real problem and there's therapeutic help available to you:

The addiction to drama stems from the need to feel right. Feeling right gives us a feeling of power. A prime example of this is the situation that happens that seemingly is out of your control, and you feel helpless, angry and frustrated. This situation gives you the perfect excuse to complain, because after all, the situation is wrong, and you feel right, which in turn, feels good. Sometimes we go so far as to create drama and conflict, to get our next fix. There is also the addiction to the adrenaline rush associated with drama.

you misquoted Wikipedia

"However, Carr claimed that it wasn't the hypnotherapy itself that enabled him to quit - "I succeeded in spite of and not because of that visit" and "I lit up the moment I left the clinic and made my way home...". There were two key pieces of information that enabled Allen to quit later that day. First, the hypnotherapist told him smoking was "just nicotine addiction" which Allen had never perceived before that moment i.e. that he was an addict. Second his son John lent him a medical handbook which explained that the physical withdrawal from nicotine is just like an "empty, insecure feeling"

I never "quoted," I referenced. There's a difference. Whatever. I would rather not leave my health in the hands of an accountant, but you do what you like.

i do exercise you got that. i drink green tea (caffeine). Red meat yeah. fruits veggies alright. Nicotine is not needed. A drug addict will never be at the true potential they could be if they did not use that drug. Smokers have lower incomes, all a smoker is, is a nicotine addict

oops, you better quit that green tea, YOU are an addict on par with a nicotine addict:

Intravenous Nicotine and Caffeine: Subjective and Physiological Effects in ....... Abusers
quote:
"Both caffeine and nicotine are psychomotor stimulants, which may share a common dopaminergic component of central action with classic psychomotor stimulants such as (deleted drug name)."

"Caffeine, via antagonism of adenosine receptors, is proposed to enhance dopaminergic activity by removing a negative modulatory influence of adenosine from dopamine receptors, which are colocalized with adenosine receptors on striatal neurons (Ferré et al., 1992). Similarly, nicotine is proposed to produce its reinforcing and psychostimulant effects by enhancing dopaminergic activity through blockade of dopamine reuptake (Izenwasser et al., 1991) and increasing synaptic dopamine release (Courtney et al., 1991; Benowitz, 1996; Nisell et al., 1997)."

Yeah... that's why they test athletes for "juicing." It is inhibiting their full potential and robbing their competitors of the best competition available... Riiight....

Also, your link has nothing to do with the topic at hand. We aren't arguing whether smokers are poor or not.

Please stop claiming that an addiction to nicotine is on par with an addiction to drugs.
It isn't.
That term should have been refined years ago so idiots don't keep confusing what it means to be addicted IE to Hero..n, amphetamines or any hard drug that changes your behavior in addition to being physically addicted. Addiction is defined by the self destructive behaviors that come along with using drugs and you just don't get that with users of caffeine or nicotine.
It isn't the same.
You won't be robbing stores or selling cooch to get a nic fix. :2c:
I am not a drug addict, I am a vaper!
