I was having a rapid heartbeat and went to the doctor last week for it. Doc said it may be due to smoking. Im only 33, but I have been smoking for 20 years. I know that all doctors are going to tell you to quit smoking every time you go. However, this time. I decided to listen. My mom has been vaping for a few years now and she gave me her old vape a little over a year ago and I "attempted it" for a few hours but put it down and went right back to cigarettes (I blamed it on stress from upcoming wedding). So after coming home from dr that day I got it out and decided to get some new flavors, and go all in with it. The first day I had 6 cigs, day 2 I had 4, day 3 I had 1, Day 4 I had 0, and today is day 5. I decided when getting the new flavors that I was going to start very low on nic. I am using a 4mg nic. I felt that if I was going to quit smoking I needed to really really go drastic for it to work. I was told by several I started too low and it would never work. I feel as if I am doing very well with it, and do not intend to get any higher level of nic. I hope to have no nic very soon (with in next few months). Ok, so theres a bit of back history and I didnt realize it would be so long (Those of you still actually reading this, thank you!) Now for a few comments, questions etc.

1. How long before you noticed your smell, taste, etc really coming back?
I noticed it majorly yesterday. I can smell everyyyyyything now haha. And I decided last night to drink a few beers to make sure I could still drink and not be tempted (I am on a dart team and tues nights ill be in a bar all night with drinkers and smokers, and knew that would be my biggest temptation) I did not smoke last night while drinking, I use to love beer. Now, It tasted like someone took a skunk, and put it in a blender with a bit of beer and handed it to me to drink, it was HORRIBLE!!!!

2. My heart rate has improved GREATLY since I stopped and that is awesome! Dr will be happy to know that I actually listened.

3. My vape is old, very old, its a "Big bang, Vape 99" I need a new one. I want to get a new one to "reward" myself for actually giving up smoking sooner than expected. ( I figured Id still smoke for a few weeks after starting to vape) Id like one of the "box" ones, (not sure what they are called) They have a cute one at my local vape shop for 65, but of course after getting stuff to go with it it will be well over that amount. Can anyone recommend some for me that I may possibly like. (I know thats hard, because I dont even know what I would like)

Sorry this was so long. I do have more questions, etc but I will save them for the time being since I already seem to have written a book!

I have a Kanger Subox Mini starter kit. I wish that I had started with this. Buttons for adjustments are straightforward and easy to understand. Important safety features are built in. It has batteries that can be changed out and last longer than the first products that I bought (a dead battery was the reason for my last cigarettes that I smoked). The tank is big enough that the e juice lasts a long while. Coils can be used for above ohm and and sub ohm vaping. As you progress, you can build your own coils on the rba deck. For the price, I think it is an excellent buy.

Stick with a subox mini kit from Kanger, both the Kanger and the iStick are pretty inaccurate but one is alot more inaccurate than the other. Also the Kanger kit comes with a pretty decent tank out of the box so you might be saving yourself some money there instead of buying another tank separately. There are tons of setups that blow these options out of the water but they also cost alot more money.

To the OP:
Congrats on making the full move to vaping. Be aware that, this early in your vape journey, your body is likely to go through some changes, as it "purges" itself from all the nasty stuff you put in it while smoking cigs. This will give you some idea...

Mind you, the timetable is a bit different for everyone.

I would recommend getting one bottle of ejuice with a higher nic level than what you're vaping now (it might help to vape that if you undego the "cravings" for a cig.

The above recommended devices are all good; keep in mind, what works well for one person might not be your cup of tea (that's in both devices used, and any e-liquids we might recommend).
Enjoy your vape journey, and never forget to check out these forums if you need any info on stuff...:thumb:
