Oh cool. That's the device I used to stop, a variable voltage evod battery with an evod glass tank.

Are you into the hobby side of vaping at all? Someone else already mentioned how they watched a bunch of YouTube videos a lot. I did the same. I think a big reason that I was able to make the switch right away is that I got into the hobby side of vaping almost right away. I upgraded to a 40 watt mod and a subohm tank by week 3. I think an evod is a good set up for a beginner, even though there's starter kits now that are a bit better. It worked for me though. I still wanted to experience more of what vaping had to offer though. Are you completely satisfied with your current setup? If not maybe try some different styles of vaping, possible it might satisfy your cravings better. Just a thought.

This is similar to the advice I was going to offer. I had been a smoker for 24 years and never had any intention of quitting because I enjoyed smoking cigarettes. However, I picked up vaping and quit just like that. I found it so easy because I discovered the hobby side early on. I upgraded from a 20w device to a 80w device inside the month and started to sub ohm. I'm just starting to build my own coils now. I love reading up on anything vape related and spend hours watching YouTube videos. The collecting side appeals to me too. I love shiny new vape gear and trying, testing and collecting e liquids. I think this is the reason I have been able to quit easily.

I think the e-liquid places an important part. Find some juice that you love and you will look forward to picking up your vape. Most online hardware vendors also sell the premium juices. Perhaps you could order some interesting flavours or subscribe to an e liquid subscription? Check out 'All The Juices' for some ideas too.

One thing that will always stop me going back to the cigarettes now is realising how bad smokers smell. I really is pretty awful. The biggest benefit for me is not smelling like that.

Good luck :)

I've always liked the advice of making the smokes a pain to get at.

Put them in the attic or basement, or out in the car.
Always have the vape gear handy.
:)

I didn't put my smokes far away but I did go down to the zoo and wait for an animal to spray his cage territory with his scent glands and I''d have them soak the filters. That made them pretty unsavory and hard to enjoy, except for the panda spray which made them taste like Good & Plenty candy. I expected it to taste more like bamboo. I finally stopped the habit when a jaguar spun around and grabbed my arm, ripping it off and the shoulder. Nothing will help you quit smoking like a 2 month stay in the hospital while they reattach your arm.

No closer than the nearest convenience store works for me ... :D

If I have to go out into the real world and deal with rude people, its not worth it for a smoke. I guess that's a measure of how much I've detoxed in almost 3 years of vaping exclusively ...

I think I've found and discarded all of the "emergency" packs at home, I was amazed at some of the places I had hidden them, like behind the toilet tank. Really ?

Still have my symbolic "last beer" in the freezer, though. It will turn 25 years old this year. Not much chance of ever drinking that, whatever chemical nightmare it has become ...

You Should! Quitting Smoking can be one of the Hardest things that an Average Person will do in their Lives.

And Sometimes you just have to Grit Your Teeth and say... "Not Today. I'm Not Going to Smoke a Cigarette Today. Maybe Tomorrow I'll go out and Smoke an Entire Carton. BUT I'M NOT SMOKING A CIGARETTE TODAY !!!"

Because Quitting (and Staying quit) is a Long Series of Today's. And you do each of them One Day at a Time.

It's interesting reading the different ways we have all dealt with quitting and how some ways work for some and not for others. Always good to have choices in method as well as gear.

When I started vaping, I gave myself one week for dual use, but only had 2 smokes that first day and quit. That is, until the third day and I stupidly let both my spinners run out of battery within 15 minutes of each other. The "stress" of not being able to vape for at least an hour was my excuse to have my third and final smoke. What worked for me was having 4 packs, three unopened in the drawer of my computer desk within easy reach. I guess, after uncountable failed attempts, this time I needed to face it head on instead of trying to "hide it" from me. I needed to be in control of my destiny if you will. Thankfully, I never really reached for or wanted one of those smokes just sitting there waiting. At my 6 month mark, I did reach for those packs of smokes, gave them away, and never looked back.

Only mistake I made was giving them away instead of throwing them away.

Keep trying different flavors and get some 36mg juice. You can dilute it by blending if it's too much. It took 36mg to knock my cravings down enough to manage.

The good fortune of finding a flavor that made my taste buds smile like a Camel filter used to, did the trick. Freedom Smoke USA used to include random 3ml samples with every order. Once in a while I'd try them. Water-razzle (watermelon + raspberry) was the flavor that got me over the quitting hump, believe it or not.

I'll also add that it did take a tiny bit of willpower to actually quit smoking completely. One day I was sitting there having a vape, and realized I had not smoked in three days. Of course mad craving hit the next moment. And for a few days afterward since it was on my mind. In my opinion, it was 100x easier to not smoke in that circumstance, than it ever was for any cold turkey attempts in the past (before vaping).

I've always liked the advice of making the smokes a pain to get at.
And how. I was working out of my home office when I started vaping. I could reach over and have that right now right there at my desk. Or go round up the cigs and a lighter, then go outside if I wanted to smoke. Being naturally lazy, vaping was the choice nearly every time. Absolutely good advice here.

Do you love your juice?

I quit cigs on the same day that I began vaping, and I must've went through about 75-100 different juices before I eventually found a small handful that I truly liked. That helped me alot at least. It took me a few months of ordering different juice and testing samples here and there, but it was worth it, and I didn't even get the urge to have a single cig, as long as I had some of my favorite juice around.

I'd say that probably 95% of all juice that I've tried, I did not like, for whatever reason, and if I'm trying to quit cigs, I think that it's important to have a juice that is truly good. What that perfect juice is, is anybody's guess, as that varies greatly from person to person of course.
the day i quit smoking was the same day i randomly stopped at a b&m and got my vape equipment. i had 1.5 packs of cigs in the car,,i had no idea i was going to stop that day,,,, it was not planned. the 1st 3 days were a little annoying,, but i kept telling myself that i didn't quit smoking i just switched to this 'other brand'.. and pretended i was stuck in some country where the vape ejuice was all that was available......after a week of the tobacco flavored ejuice i was tiring of it and thought 'hey those other vapors are enjoying flavors,, i want to enjoy them too'......so i went back and tried a few on a horrible carto stick thing.........finally i asked a customer what he liked....hello jamaican rum! i love tropicals and creamies.........i have a hard time with cherry and strawberry-they dont taste good to me.......and that is ok,, so many other good flavors to pick.

right now i am waiting on 12 FA flavors from nicotine river.......my goal is to find simple stand alone flavors.. small steps before getting big into mixing,,

I picked the flavors based on HIC's notes,, and Nonna cake only because everyone was going bonkers about the flavor hahah.
