Hrm well if methamphetamines replaced pumping your body full of toxins and improved your overall health then by all means yes. As we all know this is not the case (as did she) I would probably have confronted her illogical comparison. She was intentionally taking a situation where one has replaced a bad thing with a better thing and compared it to a situation where someone took a good thing are replaced it with bad. The fact that one thing replaces another wasn't the point of the conversation and she knew that. I forget the name for that type of illogical argument but it's generally frowned up and she obviously made it through general college courses. She would've been chewed out for using that type of argument in a paper by any professor.

I think if she's that stupid I wouldn't want her filling my prescriptions she might give you something she shouldn't.

I USED to think pharmacists were intelligent till I worked with several who were idiots8-o Don't flame me, I'm a nurse:) There will always be a few, as in any profession. Her remark was just ill-informed and tactless:)

Going to have to make a note that if I get into an accident while I'm visiting folks in Austin they'd better ship my .... back to San Antonio so that I don't wind up in trouble with another (oh my, yes, another) hospital 'personality'.....

last one was a dietitian who actually got into an argument with my doctor over decaf ... my doc won, LMAO. No decaf for the Coffee Fairy, dangit!

Then again this is the same doctor that cleared me to leave the hosp. early because I was niccing so badly that it was doing me, in his words, "more harm than good" to be where I couldn't smoke. Now I don't have that problem, if I'm in an official area there he hauls me into his office and lets me vape away. He LOVES my PV!

Ignorance is one thing, but some people are willingly ignorant. They don't care what the truth is. They have their opinion and they're sticking with it. This is very frustrating.

Case in point is the cnn article regarding electronic cigs not delivering nic:rolleyes:

I told a pharmacist here at the hospital that my ecig was not a smoking replacement device, that it was a alternative to smoking. She stated "methamphetamines are an alternative to sleep" Should I take those?
I could barely contain myself from doing bad things to this idiot.

I might have said, "Are you saying you quit taking methamphetamines...?"

My questions for you are:
1)Why were you talking with her in the first place?
2)Now that you know the type of closed minded person that she is
are you going to talk to her ever again?
3)Looks like you have a beautiful SO in your avatar, focus on her and enjoy your vap'n hobby, secure in your knowledge of how you are helping your life and let the bag ...err... baggage of the irrogant pharmacist go.

Life is too short.

Just tell her supervisor she advised you to take .... for sleep issues and wondered if that was correct.
Maybe next time she'll keep her opinions on class B/class A drugs to herself as they aren't comparable to legal ones.
(would she advise someone prescribed with painkillers to take ...... instead? no, didn't think so)

It was lunch time and she was in the nurse's lunch room eating. I asked if she used PG here in the hospital pharmacy. After telling me about compounding pharmacies she asked why I wanted to know about PG. I showed her my ecig and explained it to her.

No I will not speak to her on the subject again ( I flunked HS debate due to beating up the other team)

That be my wife of 28 years, she vapes also and loves it as much as I do.

I couldn't think of anything to say after she said what she did and still continue to be an employee at the hospital, so I shut up. Big step for me!

"If your goal is to die, then by all means..."

These people are supposed to be professionals, they often behave like two year olds.

I would have replied: (having the advantage of time to think about it)

"the PV is the equivalent of sleep in your analogy."

I bet the hospital pharmacist does not confront the doctors or make sarcastic remarks about all the vicodin and dilaudid they pass out to the drug seekers that come to the hospital (some people truly need these type of medications) but many actually go to the hospital to get these meds :grr:
