quoting a small block of a post

not sure if this is the right forum. but im wondering how do i quote just a snippet of a post rather than the entire thing?

I was hoping there was a more efficient way, in my email client if i highlight the part i want and hit reply it just quotes that block of text. oh well

Highlight what you want to delete then press delete.
