I was told to post this here, so what I'm going to do is combine both of the threads I posted into one and have my other two deleted.
Basically, I'm a machinist. I'm new to mechanicals (somewhat) and I would really like to make a high end quality device but I don't have $200-$300 to spend on one.
What I need is this: Details about the buttons and connections. Dimensions that center pins should be, any and all threading info (which I did find on a sticky in this forum) and any and all technical drawings of standard mechanical mods that AREN'T going to get me in trouble to stealing or copying ideas/designs.
**I am not looking to steal or copy any designs. I just want to research some layouts to help me in designing my own**
***I am not looking to make small or large quantities of any devices for the purposes of selling them. I want to make personal devices for myself. Unless of course I make something so awesome that I have to sell it.***
Anyways, that's basically it. I'm in the research and development stages at this point. I'm just trying to absorb as much information about mechanicals as I can. I do have one on the way so I can tinker with it and a friend has a couple sigelei's that he said I can tear down and inspect with calipers/mics.
I will be looking to either turn some bar stock on a Haas turning center, or doing some plate flip style machining on some haas mills. So if anyone has any tips about machining tubes for mech mods, end caps, etc.. that would also be helpful.
Thanks in advance guys! (and/or gals!
