Maybe, people don't have the same "vape" budget you do? Maybe, they are looking for value. Maybe, you are coming off as a condescending jerk?

Hey, I hear the provari doesn't do variable wattage.

Just sayin'

Its a debateable thing, but I think vw is hype.
Sorry about your SVD.
I'm sure you got backups.
The biggest lesson from threads like this should be
back ups back ups back ups.
Also back ups for your back ups

To the OP: Are you going to try disassembling your device? If so, you may be able to find a replacement button at Radio Shack. Just take the device to the biggest one in town, and tell the oldest guy working there what you want to do. Those Older Radio Shack Nerds are great.

If you do attempt repair, make sure you test your modded mod outdoors and away from combustible materials.

I can afford a provari. I just chose to get something different. It works for me. Some people cannot afford one though and are looking for a less expensive option. It does get a little old that in every thread where someone is looking for a $30 or $40 PV the provari fans show up implying that the OP will not be happy until he has one. Not everyone wants a provari. A lot of people are new to vaping and may not want to commit that amount of money to vaping until that are more assured that vaping is going to work for them. I am enjoying my vape with what I have and that's all that matters to me. Stating that a person does not have one only because they cannot afford one is nonsense. That is where the chip on the shoulders are coming from.

U know why I popped for a provari, is because I'm comitted to not going back to cigs.
I wanted something with a proven track record.
Now honestly if I would have seen this before I got a provari and I wouldn't have started
playing around with vv I would have gotten this.

I started my vapig journey with joyetech and yes it was very reliable.
That vv/vw mod they have I hear its not so reliable. But my joyetech
ego passthrough was a winner.
For me its all about reliability and dependability.

Ever try hitting a home run with a bat and a tomato?
That is how some people treat their gear. Those Need something super strong just to take the abuse.
Most cell phones would not go through what many APV do and yet people just blow it off as carelessness. Not in our world though.

My version 1 eVics go everywhere with me. Yep Both and after 9 months they are still in excellent condition, both physically and mechanically. From the typographical beating I have taken over the past 9 months, I think I have already gotten my moneys worth.
At the cost I actually have invested in Both I think I have gotten that 10x over.

Even a Tank(military) can be broken. It just takes the right numskull. :D

This is true. We keep trying to make the world idiot proof, but the world keeps producing bigger idiots.

Note: I'm not suggesting the OP did anything dumb. Sometimes, things just break.

Went to my cousins wedding yesterday and brought my SVD along for the ride. I've had the thing about a month and while I'm outside I go to take a vape and its not firings. At first I think I've turned it off and forgotten. Go to turn it off and the LED saids "oFF", ok kinda weird. So I go to turn it back on and after three clicks nothing. Come to find out the connector for the button is busted, you really have to mash the hell out of it to get it to work. Called the website I got it from and they said they've got a 48 hout DOA policy, called my local store and they said no one in the store would be able to fix it.

So yeah, poor little SVD is dead. My first AVP (first love so to speak), dead of a door nail. I went to my local store and bought an MVP and ordered a new SVD from Fast Tech so I'll be good to go soon but now I've got my poor dead little SVD staring me next to me laptop...very sad.

My condolences!

Its a $200 vaporizer, not a freakin estate in the Hamptons or a Maserati.

I can afford to replace every one of my 11 setups with ProVari mods.

But I didn't get to where I am by needlessly spending money.

I'm still keenly interested in whether the OP's mod can be ressurrected with a little electronic surgery. Maybe it's just on life support right now. Or, cryogenic stasis. Or, maybe Boba Fett is carrying it away to collect his bounty.

Sorry to hear about your SVD. I got two from Fasttech back when they came out and they still work fine. I have given them to family members and they use them everyday. Great Mods, Built well.. If you would have gotten it from Fasttech, they have a 6 months return policy. They are slow, but they do come through.

As far as the Provari hater.... well... you wont know until you use one. With a statement like you made, you have never had one in your hand nor have you used one. I have had one for about a month and have ordered another yesterday for a family member. I wont tell you what I think of them...... but you might be able to guess.

The local B&M got some ProVari Mini's in but unfortunately the chargers and batteries haven't come in yet so I loaned the owner one of mine so he could at least try one out. Of course he had to let me try it out and the difference between the PWM from my SID and Vamo and the clean DC from the ProVari makes a noticeable difference in the vape quality. Damn with what I've spent on mods i could have had a ProVari.

My issue isn't the provari. It's the pointless arguments that get started over it, both for and against it. It's like the eternal struggle between ford and chevy. You drive yours, I'll drive mine. Either way we both get where we're going. (Unless some idiot in a toyota hits one of us.):p had to add some humor with the way things are going.

If you can afford a Provari, you can. And you understand.

If you cannot, you don't own one and can't truly understand.

Call me a fanboy, at this age I couldn't give two poops about what you think of me, I stand alone in my actions and behavior.

But 99.999% of everyone who has a chip on their shoulder about a Provari either doesn't own one or can't afford one.

And so they resent it. The device itself.

You think we're cocky because we own one.

Others get angry and lash out because they can't own one and those who do... well, they're just better than you. Right?

You can't knock something you've never used or owned. But you can knock the people who do.

Yes, some Provari owners can be cocky and arrogant, but they'd be cocky and arrogant anyway without it.

What a sad, sad, sad debate this is. It's cyclical. It'll never go away.

I wasn't going to post on this thread, but......seriously! HaHa, we are talking about a couple hundred bucks here, not a $60,000 Escalade. I believe any adult who really wanted one, and thought it was worth it, could have one. I will not own one because I choose not to because I don't see it as worth the price. Its reliability has to be its best attribute, and I don't see how it could outlast 7 $30 devices. If you need a $200 battery tube to feel "cocky", well then......
