I'm scheduled to do an interview today at 2:30PM (US Eastern Time) on WDFH 90.3 FM radio WDFH-FM 90.3
in New York with host Robin Leary.

We''ll be discussing the DC Court of Appeals ruling against the FDA, NY Assembly member Rosenthal's e-cig sales ban bill, the FSPTCA, and FDA's policies and actions on e-cigarettes, smokeless tobacco and cigarettes.

She's interviewed me twice before on tobacco harm reduction products and policies (and she's supportive), although its been several years (before e-cigs made a splash).

I wish everyone in New York felt as outraged as I do about Assemblywoman Rosenthal.

Or then again, maybe not, because I might be a bit too outraged.
I honestly would not shed one tear if she got eaten by a lion or something.

So yeah, maybe not as outraged as I am.

But hopefully outraged enough to vote her the hell out of office.
And I mean WAY the hell out of office, like all the way to Siberia or something.

The half hour radio interview was my best so far, and we covered a lot of territory in that time (including all of the subjects I previously mentioned and more). I exposed many of the hypocritical and counterproductive claims and actions by the FDA, Linda Rosenthal, CTFK, ACS, AHA, ALA, and drug companies.

Robin will notify me in the next few days about the dates/times the show will be aired.

Dear (omitted for privacy)

Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding a potential ban on
electronic cigarettes.

This past week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia
Circuit rejected the FDA's request to have the entire court review the
December decision by a three-judge panel which ruled that the FDA does
not have the authority to regulate electronic cigarettes as a
drug-device. I agree that there is no need for legislative action on
this matter. New York has many more important issues, including state
budget cuts and a property tax cap, which are my legislative priority.

There is already far too much government interference in our daily
lives. I am committed to ensuring that every citizen has the right to
make their own decisions without unnecessary government regulation.
This proposal is a complete overreach of government and needs to be stopped.

Please be assured that I understand your concerns and will work with my
colleagues to protect your rights. If I can answer any additional
question or be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact
my office.

Sincerely,

Steven F. McLaughlin
