There is a clear motive to get everyone to think vaping is worse than smoking. It makes everyone who believes the lie our enemy! It makes vaping the enemy of people who still smoke (and those who don't). Basically it makes us all enemies of each other, and the only one's who can possibly win are those in command! (hint: it's Big tobacco and Big Pharma!)

Keep people smoking, their health declines, big pharma takes over from there, all while the patient continues to smoke til the day they die!

I want off this hell hole planet! :(

A friend of mine, who is a chronic [*Edited] (which I didn't rub in his face every chance I had) told me "those things are poisonous," meanwhile he's a smoker himself. We're no longer friends - I just left to his own delusional devices.

Stubborn people who think they're always right about everything are not worth the effort or time to pointlessly argue with.

I was at a clients house this morning and she said "XXX have you quit smoking"? And I was happy to say "Yes I Have".
Then I pointed out I had started vaping.
Her reaction was Happy I didn't smoke anymore but then said "Those things have just as many bad things in them as cigarettes".

While I know there's tons of misinformation out there in the media about vaping, I have the sneaking suspicion that this particular nasty rumor was started by some chain-smoker who out of guilt about his smoking made this crap up and spewed it out at the first vaper he saw out of defensiveness about his own stinky and unhealthy habit. "Well yeah, I smoke, but that's just as bad!"

I think this caught on fast among smokers, and is their main defense of their habit. The next crock of s.... they come up with is "There's no research done on those things, and you don't know what it's doing to you!"

Yes, there are numerous studies and expert medical opinions, but you can't tell them that, they will just shout you down and talk over you. They don't want to hear it. Of course, we DO know what smoking is doing to them.

Gotta love those armchair experts. I let them spout their crap, grin, nod, then ask their source. Before they can crank out an answer, I tell them that if they heard it on the news or interwebz, I have no use for it. Yes, I know what is in my juice, I DIY. I rebuild. I use zero nic. Eat me.

Yesterday My daughter found out I was vaping. I hadn't told her because I didn't want to hear her sermon. She knows I've been struggling to quit smoking for some time. What I got was "Mom I am not happy with you using ecigs." I pointed out that I wasn't smoking anymore and she said" it still has chemicals in it". I let the subject drop and I walked away. There was nothing I could say to turn her thoughts around and it probably won't be brought up again. I vape at home in private anyway so it isn't going to bother me that she doesn't approve of it. My husband is very happy that I am not smo0king and he thinks my ecigs are cool so no matter what anyone else says I am happily vaping away!

Well I am glad you are vaping and not smoking cigarettes anymore. But I must say your daughter seems fairly narrow minded.
You might want to get all the info on the "Chemicals" used in E-Liquid, USP grade Propylene glycol, USP Vegetable glycerin, FDA approved flavoring and yes Nicotine, and present it to her along with asking to have a talk with her.

The more we let people believe the lies the media, tobacco companies and the phrama companies are spreading the worse it will get.

It's time to take action by trying to straighten people out on what we are doing and why.

You might try showing her some articles. I'll link a few that might help.

Yea I had a smoker tell me yesterday about vaping being as bad as cigarettes. It really astounds me how people can be so misinformed. Actually, no, no it doesn't. People believe whatever they see on the news and accept it as irrefutable fact.

don't want to start a war but isn't that what FOX NEWS is for? before anyone rips me it is just a joke so have sense of humor and let it pass, please?......

The local news stations here have been running hit pieces on vaping and I have e-mailed them and commented on their webpages and no response or anything. It does make me very angry that the media will believe something a doctor says and run with it instead of checking their facts or interviewing local vapers.

they don't care about facts-thay care about ratings and ad $$$$$. it has been and always will be this way. we must be respectful, strong, and never waver from the truth- you won't win over everybody but you will get through to a few. that is how movements work. let the misinformed be the hares, we are the tortoises and will win in the end.....

The doctors have to "error on the side of caution." No doctor in the land will come out and say that vaping is healthy. It will never happen. I am also not suggesting that anyone will ever think that will happen. I think the best we can do is have the medical community say it is significantly less harmful than analogs...

they don't have to say it is healthy- they have to admit it is healthier... my doctor said it to me and is proud i quit smoking after 45 years. coming up on 2 years without touching a cig. we just need to be the living, walking, and talking proof at how much better vaping is than smoking.even the most stubborn will see the truth- they may not admit it, but they will get it.......

Since I have started vapeing instead of smoking cigs the following has happened:
1) I can actually smell things like the flowers or the air clearly
2) Whatever I eat now tastes 100 times better than it did for the 30+ years I smoked cigs. I mean a simple ham and cheese sandwitch tastes like a fillet minone (sp)?
3) I can now do things without getting winded, like housework/yardwork/sports etc.
4) I do not cough up nasty stuff anymore.
5) I feel better in the morning, when I smoked (2-3 packs a day). I felt like crap when I woke up for some reason.
6) I don't get any complaints from friends or family when vaping as I did when I was smoking.
7) People will actually stop and ask me what I am using, which gives me a chance to explain how to use vaping to replace smoking.
8) I love my vape, go through 5ml or so every day. But it's much better than smoking 2-3 packs a day.
9) It has saved me a ton of cash. The initial cost of getting my setup was pretty spendy. But it payed for itself in 4-5 months of not buying cigs.
10) All around I feel much better

If I could think of 10 off the wall things I loved about cigs I would. But I can't. I was just addicted to those smelly nasty expensive things for 30+ years.

I laughed at this, since FOX NEWS is actually one of the few mass media sources that defend e-cigs and vaping. Greg Gutfeld's rants on the topic are priceless and make me think there might be some hope for humanity. Not to mention the fact I find him hysterically funny when he gets on a tear, and he sure does on this topic.

sorry, can't help myself- so they mostly get it right about e-cigs. you know what the say, even a blind squirrel can find an acorn now and then? i'm glad they get it right about e-cigs -doesn't make up for the ALL the other stuff they have no clue about....and ,yes, to be fair, the other media outlets get a lot wrong, too...end of controlled rant...

To me the term "client" implies a business relationship and I would avoid anyone that feels they are entitled to get "preachy" with my personal life. And when they start to comment on how I smell, the relationship would be pretty much over. :)

But that's just me.

Not sure what business you are in or if you normally deal closely with the public but once you are hired to do work for someone, like build them a home and then go back into there home for whatever reason, it always become a personal relationship. They have put their trust in you and or the firm you work for. That is if the firm, company, you work for is trust worthy.

So what would you of done? Say something like "I don't care what you think about the way I smell". Or some other rude remark when someone is trying to pay you a compliment?

I find it's nature of quit smoking. Ppl defend there's hobbit to the end. For some type of ppl i just do not bother and go down to the price. May be it is as bad as what you do, what is not true at all, but hell man, it cost me 10 times less, he-he, you will be surprised how much attention gets vaping in those cases.

I got girl to switch to vaping. She is seller at XXX. She got close to be fired, because she was a smoker (customers complain on bad tobacco smell) after that on amount of perfumer what she did try to cover that smell with (oh god, you know those ladies, they use aroma to scare ppl away, that's was her). And finally she switch to vaping, and things went much better for her.

Customer may not say he/she doesn't like your smell... but they will not be back to you if they do not like it. And if you work in retail or any type of support business you have to fit in or your gone (as well as your paycheck).

I was actually surprised when I got here and this site referred to what we use as e-cigarettes. I'd never in a million years mistake my big nautty tank for a cigarette. No one has, though a few people think it's a small oxygen tank. I do not even know how to address those people. I assumed everyone used PV. I think the other posters are right it isn't an electronic cigarette is it? It is really a personal or portable vaporizer. Right? Different beasts? Am I just reaching and splitting the proverbial semantics hairs?
No your right but it has all been lumped together so in the publics mind it's all the same
