Bishop I'm gonna rebuild my Ody without the wire pinching in a few minutes I think. The thing I just can't seem to grasp is why it floods maybe once every build (if that much).. it doesn't leak or flood consistently... just very rarely.

there something else i like for you to check. actually be easier if we can skype or use oovoo I can inspect your ody with you.

Oh dear its so simple and if you still getting a leak Ill make a video on this subject. I just got to finish up my juice in my current quad twist build highlander.

Would it be too much to ask you to make a video about this leaking matter? ;)
I have a V1 and also experience the random flooding/gurgling. I use a 2mm wick (doubled at the coil), I cut my wicks at the top of the o-ring on the positive pin and connect the NR wire by making some loops around the wick at the base of the ceramic. Maybe it's overwicking, haven't tried the Mr. Krinkle method yet.

Sorry I don't have suggestions but it seems odd. I thought the OP said he has v2. Both my odys have v2 rebuildables and I have not had any leaking yet (fingers crossed). I use a 3.5 mm wick, and I cut 3 strands from each channel (as another poster suggested) to help with wicking. I think I read earlier in the thread to, I cut mine as well right at the drop off so maybe that helps prevent liquid from getting in from there. For the negative wire I cut a little ways up from the bottom of the housing.

Also I have used juices from 95% vg to 50/50 and everything in between in the few weeks I have had my odys (plus a peny now) and no leaking. Plus I leave the juice control open anywhere from 1 and half to 2 full turns and do not have any issues.

Good luck. If there is anything from my builds I can let you know of besides the top just say. I have really enjoyed the odys and peny, now just trying to tell myself I don't need anymore haha.

EDIT: I will say one issue I have had at times, and maybe this is having the juice control to open, is if I forget, as I was only using a genesis, and tip it at about 3 oclock or so I sometimes get juice through the mouthpiece.

While I doubt this is your issue, I thought I'd throw this out ... on my Penelope the ceramic developed a hairline crack (probably happened when I knocked my mod over on the desk), and I never noticed it. Actually re-build several coils before I discovered it, because the ceramic still looked, to the naked eye, like one piece. Only when I completely disassembled the ceramic housing for a periodic cleaning did I find that the ceramic was actually in two pieces!

you do same thing to negative wire as you do with positive. Positive wrap around center post. and screw nut tight yes... as for negative do same except don't let it go past the base of the channel. Keep it behind wick like positive.

I can draw you a map if it helps.

Hi Bishopheals. I am using an ody v1 with both cermaics on each side. I am trying to find the "behind the plastic" recommendation you gave in your video. Each time I put it between the top most rubber oring and the bottom of the metal base, I nvever get a connection. I've been wrapping it on the wick and it works that way. I dont like doing it though cause i feel it may lessen the effectivity of the wick on the negative side. can you please draw a map as to where to put the negative wire. thanks a lot.

if im not mistaken, the under the plastic method of grounding will only work on a v2 not a v1. on a v2 when the neg wire is sitting in the metal channel of the ceramic housing, a neg connection is created. then when that housing is screwed into the base the connection is complete. by wrapping the excess under the screw is just meant to secure it not act as a means of grounding. the grounding takes place still in the ceramic housing metal channel. on a v1 with both sides being ceramic, grounding will only happen when you get your neg wire to touch the base of ody. i have since stopped pinching my neg wire between my base and ring and instead just lightly wrap it around the wick to ensure it contacts the base. so far so good, and like bishop said, make sure everything is tight...but dont over tighten. 5 min ago i over tightened my ody center post to ceramic housing and broke the post:( now my ody is just sitting as i have no spare parts to fix him. ironically i bought a post on the classy last week so i cant wait for that to show up
