Juice tasting different in an Ody

Thanks Imeo and Bruce, this will be nice, when I bought my Ody at COV, I didn't know about the bigbuyer code, so now I will contact Bruce, and I will ask him for a gift card or a coupon to use in my next buy.
You have a point about the new preorder system fright. I do not feel it necessary to skip the option anymore in order to obtain the product in time. I don't understand why the discount has to be sitewide but I don't own a website business so I'm sure there are complications I'm unaware of. Of course now that Bruce has stated that he will reimburse folks who forget or don't know about the code, he has added complications. I know that sites offer discounts for a limited time frame on specific products all the time so it's confusing to me why his has to be sitewide but oh well.
Ok, here are my tips for getting the best taste out of Ody. Mind that I have only been an Ody user for less than a month, and Im sure that people will ring in and correct me if Im wrong. All of my routine comes from many helpful people and reading all I can on Odysseus and watching a lot of how to videos.
Here goes.
First I heat up the Kanthal. Second when I get my silica I boil it in distilled water for half hour. Pour out the water and boil it again in clean distilled water for another half hour. I take it out roll it up in towel to get most of the water out. Then I put it in the oven at 200 degrees for an hour or so, depending on how soon I need to use it. Before I use the silica I torch it lightly to get any residue left off. I do this lightly with a blue flame for a few seconds as most of the residue is off from washing.
If you use Nextel 116 ceramic silica it needs a longer burn off time. You need to torch it till it glows orange. It will go thru some colour changes from sooty to all white again.
My favorite silica so far is the one from silicawicks.com and then there is a man on ebay that sells some high temp silica from germany. I have not had the pleasure of using the GG silica as when I got my Ody it was out of stock. As soon as I run short I will get some GG silica as many say its the best.
Thats it. I did not have to torch my ceramic as it was previously used. What I do to really clean it is that I drop it in hot water from the faucet and I drop a denture tablet (1/2 or 1/4 of it depending on how much water or other items Im cleaning) It gets the ceramic real white and I rinse and soak for about 15 minutes to make sure any taste might be left.
This is my routine and Im sticking to it. It has come over some experimenting and like I said from many wonderful ECF and GG members.

Hey guys just wanted to update. After a while my juice pretty much returned to normal. Last night I decide "you know what? I'll torch the ceramic." so I did.. no problems. But NOW it seems that fruity juice flavor is back! It's not even every vape.. it seems like once in a while that flavor will come back very strong. I don't understand how this is still overpowering my juice.. I've had my Ody for almost a month. I've soaked the pieces in grain alcohol and swished them around rubbing alcohol (and scrubbed them with paper towels and q-tips) when I torched my ceramic.
Not sure if I torched the ceramic enough? Should the ceramic get red hot? I just don't understand... Maybe somehow I didn't let the parts soak long enough and there were tiny tiny invisible bits of flavoring that somehow got recirculated back into my juice?
It's just strange that it doesn't taste like it every puff...
I think tonight I will clean it again... I just don't know what I should do differently! Maybe I'll just use a new ceramic?
Not sure if I torched the ceramic enough? Should the ceramic get red hot? I just don't understand... Maybe somehow I didn't let the parts soak long enough and there were tiny tiny invisible bits of flavoring that somehow got recirculated back into my juice?

Just a heads up guys on silica wicks. 3mm are great and so is 3.5m. On 3m wick have 6 strands of wick while the 3.5 has 8 strands of wick.
When using any of the two wick I notice it taking time to get saturated with VG juice then I know the wick is extremely dry and it wont perform great in my ody or pen. At times I may have to boil the wick in hot water or use a hot cup of water and let it sit there for 2 minutes. Then dry it with paper towel and put in microwave for 25 seconds. Then I use the wick and it soaks up the vg fast and its vapable.
I have tried oven and torching the silica wick and that works to but some how for me this works faster and it really soaks up the vg fast. Hope that helps.

Thanks bishop I will try this. Any ideas on getting this old juice taste out of my Ody? I dunno what else to do... I've soaked all the Ody parts in alcohol twice (once with grain and once with isopropyl) and torched my ceramic.. very strange. I get the taste of an old juice every so often, and when it happens it totally overpowers my Bobas Bounty! I've been using my Ody for almost a month, too!
are you using v1 or v2? v1 has orings top of ceramic with nut. if thats the case replace those orings. as for the ceramic if its bright white then ceramic is ok.
v2 Ody here. Maybe I didn't torch the ceramic enough... It started turning red hot and I was afraid it would crack, so I torched it a few times until it was almost red... maybe I should torch it more? I have spare ceramics as well so I guess it's not a huge deal if I break one
