Since I can't post in the appropriate forums yet;

Has anyone come up with an approximate ratio for analog cigs per ml of juice yet? I know it's somewhat dependent on how you vape vs, atty, wicking, fluvial, etc... But there should be an overall average.

From my limited experience it appears to be about 10 cigs per ml. but my numbers are skewed by the blu crappy wicking carts. Anyone else geeky enough to track this?

also dependent on the nic level of the liquid. and i, for one, have no idea what the nic level of the cigs i smoked were.

The ratio is #mg per milliliter. So If you have 24mg juice it's 24mg of juice per milliliter, which is about 20 drops.


So there is 1.2 miligrams per drop and it's about 10 puffs per drop. So 10 puffs would be equivalent to a cigarette which has about 1mg of nicotine.

Disclaimer: Not everyone vapes the same way so if you vape longer puffs you may get more nicotine per puff, and vice versa.

Analog cig - nic +4k chemicals = no idea as the 4k chemicals skew the experiment
PV - Nic juice+flavorings = not really comparable per cig imo

If you're jsut comparing nic level to nic level I'm sure there are figures around but you will likely vape more than you smoked because PV juice doesn't contain the 4k chemicals that gave you that satisfied feeling cigs did.
May i ask why the concern? Is it that you don't want to go nuts with nic and make yourself ill? - a reasonable thing btw. I'm just curious.

2 reasons my brain started down this path:

#1) How much fluid will I need per day? which dictates how often I should order.
#2) How do I know when to back off? Analogs would let you know by not allowing you to breathe, giving a sore throat, headaches, running out... etc...

Knowing now that an analog has about 1mg of nicotine makes things much easier to calculate (for my usage obviously).

Way to early for me to properly gauge how much juice per day I'm using since I've only been filling my own carts for 2 days now, but appears to be less than 1ml of 18mg fluid per day so far. .8ml last night for example. which is nearly exactly the same nic level as analogs. (.8ml of 18mg fluid = ~14.4mg of nicotine).

I'm going to keep track of it for a few weeks to see if I can get a consistent average going. It's clear that a 10ml bottle isn't going to last very long tho.

Too much nic will give you a raging headache and possible a tummy upset (I can't spell diarhea..)you may also get heart palpitations, panicky nervy feeling and sleep poorly.
Finding the 'right' level for you will take experimentation - what you smoked and what you need when you vape are not, alas, comaparable nor are they 'guessable'.
I was an ultralight smoker, no idea waht level nic the cigs were cos they don't put it on the packs here like they do in the UK, but I ended up on 12mg for pacify vaping and 18mg-24mg for a nic buzz (like maybe once a day). Other ultra light smokers need different levels. Its a bit of a journey

Yep, what CaptJay said: it's a journey. From what I've read, 3 ml per day seems to be about the average liquid usage. If you figure it at 5 you'll probably have enough. I use this formula:

More than enough = GOOD.
Less than enough = VERY, VERY BAD.

You'll want to try different nicotine levels, brands and flavors, as well. This will help you stay in the "More than enough" zone.
