Yes, graham cellucotton 100% Rayon stated on the box. It sounds like you got a bunk box...

There are other options to try it without buying another box, small bag resellers online may have vaped from the box and know its good. There are also some other sources listed in the Rayon thread

I tried to search from another forum about rayon and I've got some knowledge. Today I wicks sally viscose and got same taste like that time when I used raw viscose. But this time those chemical taste only for a short time. I have plan to try use raw viscose again but this time I will take a long time use. Sorry if my english is very bad. Hope all of you still understand what I said.

@JeremyR, have you try with rayon bamboo? I still have bamboo fibre sliver, I'd like to try and maybe I will discuss with you

Thanks friends very much

No, but the end product is very similar just different plant source.

Rayon tastes like cellulose! It has a woody nutty taste, maybe you sense it as a chemical taste.... Maybe because that was planted in your mind by internet scare tactics of people that are against Rayon... Or its just language difference.

With a good rayon, going too tight in the coil will allow you to taste the Wick. As it would with any Wick. Rayon just handles it better.

The more over tight you are the longer the muting and neutral taste will hang around.

Use a less material till it tastes clean right away.

Didn't you say Sally's was good?

Now you have a bad taste?

Maybe you have a bad coil and hot spot!

Most the time when someone says they got a horrible taste or horrible dry hit of Rayon..

The Rayon has not burned but the coil dry burned. Like when you dry burn to clean your coil.. Its a horrible taste but its NOT Rayon. Its burning juice and byproducts of juice burning.

I challenge anyone that thinks it was Rayon burning to dry burn a used coil and smell the smoke.. There's what you tasted.

We are discussing an unknown source across the internet so I can't know exactly what you have. Its possible that it is fresh Rayon and the fact that it's in top form rather than crimped fiber can cause a big difference in how it is to work with. I'm starting to suspect it was way too tight but you may also find its not as good as crimped fibers like cellucotton. That was my finding at least.

Note-

Each different Rayon will need a slightly different density. Its possible your Rayon could be proper and you just have other issues.

Switching from one rayon to another can cause your density to be way off. They both need different amounts of tightness due to the different fluffiness and coarseness of the fiber.

It sounds like you wicked the new Rayon your trying, way too tight.

To make sure your Rayon is pure -
Roll a small bit into a ball with clean hands and taste it like a piece of candy.. It should have a neutral taste, it tastes like cellulose. Burn test the Rayon compared to cotton. Rayon should be similar but burnt more completely to a lighter colored ash that blows away easily. Smell the smoke, not directly, see if you smell any chemical or plastic smells. It should smell like paper burning, maybe wood or leaves. Kinda like a campfire. Similar to cotton but not as strong a leaf odor.

I'm so glad that you are getting things worked out, Harsoe. I use Sally's too, and it is good for me.
Sometimes if the wick is very tight, then the taste isn't very good at first. After a few minutes of vaping it gets better. The wick works best at this point. It is better for the wick to be very tight than for it to be loose.

Thanks, Jeremy for stopping by and helping out over here. I do like the look of that rayon Harsoe has before it's turned into yarn... I just wonder how much different it would be from our other sources... as long as there are no other chemicals present for its intended process...

You are welcome, Harsoe. If you read the first few posts in the Rayon thread that I linked for you in my first post it will answer a lot of question about technique. Try not to get frustrated with it... you'll learn how, and it will be good!
