Help with Rayon

So my first Rayon wick was on a KFL using Pocono Fuzzy Peach... no problem.
Second wick VapeTrik AWOL... no problem
Both are strong flavors

After that, trying more subtle juices I notice a strong "smoke wood" / "roasted nut" flavor that is coming from the wick. I searched around and found 2 references to this, but no apparent solution. Seems that this particular taste is called the "break in" wick phase.

Problem is, after 3ML it just wont go away (more than a 100 puffs)

I tried everything I can think off (KFL / rda / Airflow / rayon amount / wattage / etc.), including a new coil using 26g to make absolutely sure I'm not "burning" the Rayon.

How do I get rid of that horrible taste?

Thanks Jules, I tried with 1.5x and 2.0x the amount of cotton I would normally use.
The juices are from different vendors. Juices that are "light" (more like an all day vape) are the ones were that particular burnt taste overpowers everything.

I'm pretty sure I'm not crazy since some people have also mentioned this same issue... but this "break in" seems to eventually go away, which is not happening for me :(

Along with what Jules recommended about packing Rayon tighter then cotto, I found Rayon isn't the end all be all wick for every juice. I prefer Rayon on 90% of my juices, it gives a good cleaner taste then cotton. But, I found with some tobacco flavors there was just something off about Rayon when using them. Rayon worked great for my fruit and candy flavors, but on my tobaccos I ended up going back to Japanese cotton or Organic cotton.

The juice that is giving the worst "smoked wood" effect is "Pocono / Mystery flavor"... it's a light kind of custard.

Wow! Never crossed my mind changing the wick based on the flavor type... looks like this will be a long journey!
Thank for the pointer!

You're welcome. It took me a while to really pin down what was causing the off taste I was getting. I love rayon in my KFL, but I stick to using cotton in my dripper now with my tobacco flavors.
