Ok. So. I am new to this forum, and i have been vaping for a little over a year and am just starting to venture out into the rba world of vaping. I just received me AGA-T2 in the mail. Ive watched numerous videos on youtube on how to set it up and ive followed instructions to a T. I am Using Kanthol 28ga wire and Kanthol 400x400 mesh. All of this is running on a Totally Wicked VapePro mod. The problem I am having is when i finishing making the wik, wrapping the coil (4 wraps) and everything i get a reading of 1.5ohm-1.7ohm. so i fire the battery, the coil fires, i release the power, and then it all of a sudden reads about 1ohm and it wont fire. This has been happening every time ive tried it. I am out if ideas and my buddy recommended this forum. Appreciate the help. get-attachment (1).jpgget-attachment (2).jpgget-attachment.jpg

I had similar problems, and I too just started using the AGA-T2 less than 3 days ago.

From the looks of your pictures the Wick might be too long. You want it to not touch the bottom of the tank, maybe 1mm off, and to be cut even with the top of the positive post. This will keep it from shifting around when you put the cap on.

My success was entirely related to a band-aid fix. Oxidize the crap out of the wick until you're used to wrapping coils. I burned the hell out of mine a few times after I had similar ohmage issues and shorts. Pull coil, reburn wick, remake coil, rinse repeat. Took me a total of about 5 coils til I had one worth a crap.

I personally aimed for 4 coils on 32awg that gave me about 1.8ohms

Dry run it a few times at 4-5 watts (Lower Voltages), the darker coils are the ones that might be too tight / shorting out. Wiggle things around with a large sewing needle between 3-5 second pulses to see where the hotspots are and arent. Eventually it'll all glow a nice dull red. After that you can fill it.

Check your ohmage periodically as it might drop by 0.1-0.2 and if it does pop the cap and wiggle the wick gently and check ohmage again. After a few tanks of vaping the coil stabalized for me.

There's a guy named eHuman on here who has a very detailed blog with setup instructions and it was very helpful for me.

I just got mine this week as well, but from what I have found. A 4 wrap of 28awg should result in about 1ohm, which is to low for most non mech devices. I've got a VAMO and it won't fire if the resistance is under 1.3ohm.

My first coil was a 5/4 wrap of 30awg and it resulted in a 1.3ohm coil. I used that for a tank and it was ok, but from things I have read I thought I'd prefer a higher resistance coil, so I recoiled it with 32awg, again a 5/4 wrap, came out at 2.2ohm, with that coil.

After everything I have researched and what I've read in here, thanks for everyone's input btw, I'm pretty sure that its my battery thats the problem. Like Hiding said, like his VAMO, my VapePro won't fire on anything less than 1.3ohm which I came to find out after many tests. So i guess my option are get a different battery, or a higher awg wire. Thank you everyone. Much appreciated.

Adding a few more loops to your next coil will increase the coil's resistance, allowing you to use your variable voltage Vamo and not needing to purchase a mechanical mod. I make 2.0 ohm coils to use on my Provari because I prefer a cooler vape, and then I adjust the voltage to the flavor of the juice I happen to use in my two AGA T2's.

I've yet to understand the facination of building sub-1 ohm coils on mechanical mods. It all works out to what type of vaping experience you prefer. I like having the option of using variable voltage because I frequently change between multiple flavors, and each one tastes better at different voltages. Using a mechanical mod with a sub-1 ohm coil would negate this possibility.

I had the same problem bro. Don't be frustrated. You have to oxidize your wick more. With butane flame as much as possible. I had the same problem man. You'll get through it. Butane flame. Burn every spot for 20 secs before you move to the next spot. Then re oxidize every spot again. Then put flavor on the wick and burn it again. It's all about oxidizing your wick to make it work.

That's odd. If you have any local vape store ask them if they sell pre-oxidized wick and see from there. That's what I did the first time. I've wasted so many mesh because of fail oxidation. And this one guy from the local store taught me how to do it. And been doing it since. Maybe you learn like that too.

I dont think the whole vaping scene has caught up here in florida just yet. the only store thats even remotely close to me is Totally Wicked and they dont deal in these kinds of things. I think im just going to have to wait for VapeStock here in a couple of months to get some up close and personal training on these matters. Appreciate the suggestion though.
