I'm stuck on the Terminator/Nautilus/Ody design. Cotton (which I prefer), silica, mesh or hybrid; depends on your creativity and preference. Cotton rebuilds take 5 minutes, last 10 ml or more, wick better than anything else, vapor and flavor are top notch! Tried pure mesh on AGA tanks, but was never that impressed. Kind of like the difference between CDs and vinyl; nothing was as smooth as the analog sound, and cotton wicks are the smoothest.

Genesis style tanks suck. They taste horrible and are the prima donna of the vaping world. /discuss (while I run for cover)

I find that 100% of people who hold this opinion have not acquired the skill yet to set them up properly.

I find that out of 100% of the people who have truly gotten past the learning curve in setting it up, none of them hold this opinion.

So does the fault lie in the device or the user? Does the baby grand piano suck because I can't play it? Or should I be a tad bit honest and say that I have not invested adequate time educating myself and practicing so as to elevate my personal skill to a level that enables me to take advantage of the piano's real potential? Nay, I suck, the piano doesn't.

Guess I'm the exception then. I can wrap a pretty mean coil, but from an old 901 atty to the fanciest RBA/Genny out there, if it relies on a side hole for air management I don't like it.

Like anything else, practice makes perfect, so to speak.

If I had quit attempting to stop smoking, I would not have found the wonderful world of Vaping.

If I had quit working on my first RBA, I would have missed out on experiencing the best vaping experience, which I am enjoying now.

It's all relative to everything, which we do. Granted, some people have less of a tolerance level for the RBAs. However, it is definitely worth the effort. It only gets easier with time.

    All over the place
I have had a Z-atty-Pro and a DID and got them both working great so it was not a matter of needing more time (no hot spots, perfectly wrapped coils and oxidized wicks). However, I do not at all like, what feels to me to be, second hand vapor. Sure, I can taste the juice, I can blow huge clouds with those, but the extra airy hit ("open draw" for all the genny fans) feels like your taking a "shotgun" from someone else's initial inhale. For me, I am an old school 510 atty dripper--that hit feels like a hit and not like accidentally inhaling smoke/vapor.

Don't you think it's a fair to say that "I don't like them" is far different from saying, "Genesis style tanks suck. They taste horrible and are the prima donna of the vaping world."?

I didn't touch on whether peeps preferred them, but face it, if it only tastes like crap then the problem is the set up by the user, not the device.

Sure, but in all honesty, I have the similar sentiment which is why I don't like them (they do look suuuhweeeet, though!). However, the "prima madona" part, I think, was to get a discussion going on. Nothing like criticizing the most popular thing with a dis to get a quick debate happening. All in all, I am surprised, slightly, by the huge wave of genny heads, but I think it is part of the nature of vapers to be tinkerers and involved in any thing that takes their hobby that much further--having real control over the way in which they engage in it. I would be all about the genny if control over that dadgum airy hit was an option; and no, putting tape over the air hole doesn't do it. LOL.

I love my aga-ts but to be honest I use my igo-ls much more often. My main point was that there are many quality things that I don't prefer and would never own for various reasons. But I wouldn't in honesty say they suck. A 1000 people will have a 1000 different personality /style/function preferences. I love the fact that we have so much choice in the vaping world.

That's only partially true, taste is subjective and we all understand that part. BUT, if the o-ring held top comes off in your pocket, that's a design flaw. If the draw is to airy for your liking, that's a design flaw. If there is a puddle of juice everywhere you laid your PV, that's a design flaw. Point is, not all RBA's are created equal, and some have flaws that I'm not willing to live with.

    BTW I do like A7's.
It's one glaring flaw: I do wish they had made the bottom half a little taller (larger well), and the top half a little shorter.

I have a Viva Nova with such a tight draw that if I'm not careful I end up drinking the juice. I have to be careful what type of juice I put in it obviously.
I have an RBA with such an airy draw, I can't find satisfaction from drawing on it.
I have an RBA with a perfect draw for me.
I have one on order (I'm on a list) for one with 2 stacked airholes each 0.8mm ...
To me, they're all worth owning.
One leaks like a sieve, while another doesn't leak even if stored upside down. Another one is not pocket friendly at all because the tank separates from the connection, spilling juice everywhere (vivi Nova).

Flavor? They ALL produce great flavor, because they all wick perfectly. (all but my latest wick, and that's because the mesh is "different" even though it's from the same batch I bought previously. It browns instead of grays, it's springy no matter how much I try to lock it, it's just awful... so, it's become my experimental wick... adding silica, cotton, direct dripping only, twisted coils, etc... which is a good thing, because I am becoming even more self-reliant).

Each one calls for a different flavor. I'm okay with that. Each one has a different draw. I'm okay with that.

There are a whole lot of various types of RBA's. Tobacco flavors seem to like the Batten type of attys, like the Spheroid. Fruit flavors like the Mesh. Desert likes the silica. Fruity deserts like the mesh w/silica. and so on and so on.
I am free to experiment. Try that with a store bought Joye 510 atty or a boge with tank. If you're missing your carto/tank combo, check out the Killer ....

    oh nebbermind.
The point is, they're worth it, just for the independence they give us. Bring on the FDA, IRS, Solar Flares, Economy, ... etc.... I'm ready and I know how to tweak my genny in order to bring out the best vapor or flavor.. Life is good. I really hope you all try it again and find your sweet spots too. I might need to borrow some mesh or wire some day.... :D
