Ok, so I've been vaping now for just over 2 months. Lifesaver, smoke free from being a PAD smoker. Started with the pen style, still have one ego twist but that's my backup since I mainly use the MVP 2.0. I love that battery. I've only used tanks, mainly iclear 16's. I do have the Kanger aerotank as well.

I've been reading on here nothing but good things about dripping and that the flavor totally changes and so on and so forth. Watched many videos so far on rebuilding them and it doesn't seem too intimidating. I'm sure there will be a learning curve, but I am pretty technical so I'm not worried about that.

Here are my questions though: Is there good rda that will work well with the MVP? I know it only goes to 11W, maybe that's more than enough, I still have a lot of learning to do. If so, what are some good ones that aren't super expensive, but still good quality? I'm not interested in cloud chasing or mech mods, just good flavor from the juices and a good experience.

Second, I see ohm meters aren't real expensive, under $20. But is the ohm reader on the MVP reliable enough if I do start rebuilding my own?

Any other suggestions for a newb wanting to get into RDA's would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I will share my experiences - yours may and will vary. Reminder others experience will vary.

I started simple IGO-L - single coil RDA. Great beginners RDA IMHO - you can never have to many RDA's. For $10 range off of ebay - not much lost if you don't like it.

My favorite build for IGO-L: 28 gauge kanthal - 11 wraps micro coil ala Rip trippers youtube - peaches and cream cotton yarn (walmart) for wick - measures 1.5 ohms.

Vape on MVP 2 at 8 watts. Flavor and clouds are good. At higher wattage the vape is to warm for me - may suit others.

IGO-L comes with one small hole in top cap - works well for mouth hits. Lung hits require drilling out and making a larger hole.

I have went at low as 1 ohm using MVP 2 with no problem (may even be able to go lower) - 11 watts has been plenty for me - needs lots of air flow at 11 watts in order not to get hot vape.

Your juice also will have an influence - I prefer 75%VG base for fuller flavor and clouds.

There are many great clone RDA.s: IGO-W, atomic, trident, origen, nimbus, etc. Check out youtube reviews and builds - a wealth of information.

Hope this helps to get you started - building coils can be a fun hobby and inexpensive to get into - not to mention the money savings over buying coil heads ++++ vape is far superior IMHO.

My first RDA that I am still using is a Trident clone it is wonderful.
Normally vape on a butter pecan flavor juice and the flavor change is just astounding.
I can practically settle on only vaping this juice now.

Though I am not sure how a trident would look on a mvp, if you are wanting to
try rda's but want a cheap price look up the A6 Rda's built to fit snug on even the
pen style ego's but also good enough to use with a mech mod.
Mind you the A6 is quite small but I think it would be a great choice for first try
dripping, that and you can't really argue with its price $10 or less.

From my dripping journey, I started off with an octopus which is like 9 bucks and slap a micro coil at 1.5-1.8 and cotton. It works ok. Then I went up to a trident v1 and started single coil 1.6 on mod then dual 0.8 on mech and worked better. Finally on to a patriot at dual coil 28 guage at 0.45, now in dripper heaven.

Start small to see if you like it and don't mind constantly adding juice.

All great advice. Thanks!! Good to hear on the wattage setting too. Seen a lot of vids where it seemed like people were vaping on higher wattage. Usually with my tanks I'm usually only on 7-8 watts. Too much more and the flavors start getting a burnt taste. ( a lot of fruit liquid) Will check out above mentioned ones.
