Found this, but I can't see where that first lead is going. I do know that like the Veritas, the coils should be wrapped in different directions, but I can't trap both negative leads under the screw at the same time. Only one. I am going to try trapping under the negative nut and then trapping the next under the negative screw. We shall see...

Nope! That didn't work. I am thinking this requires a single strand coil (almost like how faceless showed the Veritas build), but I ain't in the mood for that! Just built it with a single coil and called it a night.

No second arm. I asked him how he built his duals but he hasn't responded to that question yet.

That's a good pic you posted.

No need lol I could be wrong still. There are no stupid statements or questions here

Preach it!

The GOTA may be the first atty I ever decided to have the top cap drilled out. I love the vape though; the flavor tastes a lot like The Manta V2, but better. But there's that issue with duals. I should've heeded @TorontoOntario 's concern about duals.

Wasn't too bad. Ugly but, not too bad. 26ga, 2.5mm (used the Marquis' post), 8.2 ohms wicked and lubed.

Not quite sure how to wick. KGD doubled over and stuck once down the coil. Usually with the Marquis I'll stuff in a few times and then clip the top. This one I draped both ends over and down into the well and wrapped the long end to the other side.

It definitely needs a bigger air hole or two. It's pretty restricted but, the flavor is good.

Gracias again for the hep.

@67Tele, no need to double it over. Just twist a little and push it down throuhg (maybe with a needle or something) and pull the bottom out with tweezers (how I do it). Plus, you want to leave room for the vapor to escape. Your build ain't too shabby, but if you use a thicker gauge your resistance will be lower and more of a surefire (so to speak).

@67Tele

FYI, you could easily do a horizontal coil. I just did one since I have a love/hate relationship with verticals. Today I was not loving them. Actually doing the single horizontal coil was easier than doing it vertically. You just have to have your leads ending in the optimal location, but it's no biggie really. What I found ot be the easiest so that the negative lead is not in the way of where the cotton will drop is to trap the negative lead on the back side of the trap screw. Just fish the negative lead through the little area back there and wrap it under going forward. This will allow you to have the negative lead close and not shooting out.

I am not in a position to take pics or I'd just show you.

Edit: I don't care what the "high-end" boys say, I am going to continue rockin' this with horizontal coils! Nice. Now I have to get'er drilled out (maybe). I will say that I am not overly thrilled with this atomizer. It's one of those atties where if you are a master builder you'd love it, but I don't have a PhD in building, just a bachelor's.

@Mr.Mann - pardon my French but eff those "high-end" folks. They tend to look down their noses at anything but $200 attys but I've found that some of the cheapest authentics I have outvape some of the high-end attys I've bought. I've sold most of the high-end ones because they just weren't worth it. I got an URBA in today which is worth it. Not a dripper but it's similar in concept to The Zenith. Dripper-like chamber with a 6ml tank underneath. Flavors not near most drippers but it's still tasty. I'm sure you could fit dual coils if, like you said, you have a PhD in building but I'm gonna stick to single coil.

Also, picked up a Kennedy Comp. off the classies earlier. $57 couldn't pass up the deal. I'm concerned about the leaking but I've seen some methods that people claim eliminate the leaking and the flavor is supposedly great. We shall see.

Of course I have, but I don't know if anyone tried it since I posted about it. The two fit surprisingly well together. So for someone like @HeiSINberg, he could use the Vector top cap for the leak-protection and The Stumpy base for the automatic center-post build..
Thank you! I missed your post about the Frankenatty idea. It seems like a simple enough solution to HeiSINberg and my desire for both worlds. Could you shed light on your impression of the flavor and vapor production? I'll be picking them both up to give it a go, and worst case scenario is I have two different atties if the mish-mash doesn't perform as I'd like. Your thoughts would be appreciated, though.

Well, becasue of the top cap, it vaped like the Vector with the ease of build of the Stumpy. Of course I like the Vector a whole lot, but more about the build than the vape (though the vape was fine!).

You could run the in-between-posts build of The Stumpy base with the dual vertical-inlet airflow of The Vector and get a really interesting vape. I hadn't tried that one.

@Mr.Mann I'm not overly knocked out either. I tried a 24ga vertical and wicked a little different, same resistance. Seemed to be going good but the resistance kept fluctuating so I put it down for the night and got the Royal Hunter out. It's a well built atty and has good flavor. The air flow is tight but full and dense.

Yea, I think a lot of that is just manufacturers not wanting their stuff cloned too though. Apparently China is so ruthless they just clone the stuff from pictures now. Read a story about the guy that made the Aqua SE putting up fake pictures along the way and calling it the Aqua v3 and sure enough theres an Aqua v3 on fasttech that doesn't even work because there is no place to attach the coils but they still cloned it and put it up for sale lol

I don't love cloners, but that is pretty gangsta when you can clone from pics! Hilarious.
