I like the air flow honestly it's perfect to me. I like it better with the 3 large holes open on each side then all 4 open on each side. I'm not exactly sure why with all 8 open it was spitting but hey I'm not complaining now lol.

Well, if that many of you say it's good I must have done something wrong, I'll have to give it a go again the next time I rewick.
The threaded barrel is twofold, 1. It allows you to have no juice well which makes for the easiest deck to build on ever, still maintaining a reduced chamber and 2. You don't have to worry about the barrel coming off in your pocket, because of the no juice well integrated to the deck I think this would be disastrous when you're on the go lol I love it, wish more RDA's had it but I'm obviously in the minority on that one.
It's important to build the coils high and to the outside directly under the airflow so it wraps around the coils (we're kinda fighting the laws of physics with top airflow), I know you know what your doing it's just kind of deceiving how high your coils look while you're building without the walls of the juice well on the deck. My coils were too low on my first build but ever since raising the coils I get no spit back at all no matter how carried away I get with the juice, except for recently with using the VCC. I run mine with that little air hole closed off and tinker with the 3rd large air hole, depending on the juice. I don't like that little air hole, if I remember correctly it made mine whistle..
Nope just gotta worry about the top cap falling off in my pocket instead! Lol. I could blow on this thing and it'd come off. I'll have to change the o-ring to make it tighter.
I think I built mine kinda low since that's what I'm used too but it's actually mid ranged in the middle so I'll leave it there till I rebuild it then I'll do as you suggest. I also won't get much use out of that little hole so I closed it off asap. It did make it kinda loud now that you mention it.

Just put a build on the Kennedy 24, dual twisted 24g 316ss, 3mm ID coming in at .18 ohms, it was a bit of a ..... to build but that's my fault other than that the flavor is surprisingly good. The juice well is massive and the vape is cool but dense. I really like the bottom airflow and the drip tip feels good in mouth. This atty is really beefy and solid and looks great sitting on my snow wolf. I'm surprised at how well this is preforming, gonna be hard to rotate between the stumpy, 454v2 and now this. Gonna hold off on the phenotype until I get the tugcap.
That is my one big complaint with this RDA that oring that comes installed in the topcap is too loose and the black oring to replace it with is so freaking tight you basically have to pry the topcap off once you put it on, it's ridiculously hard.
Tell me about it! The v1 has the EXACT same problem. All blue orings are loose but the black replacements are like cement and you need a vice grip to remove the parts.

Yep, exactly, I tried the dental floss trick with the blue oring but didn't have much luck, I think the problem is they chamfered that edge and the cap doesn't sit deep enough to get past it so unless it's super tight like with that black oring, it just ends up rolling into that chamfered edge and popping off, it's not that bad with the black oring cementing it on there because I just drip through the drip tip anyway but it's still annoying..
i figured 8 wraps of twisted 24g 316l would be much lower seeing as 8 wraps of regular 24g is around .2...weird.
I find too much air to be the most common cause of spit back for me.
Three causes of spit back I have found:
1) the coil is sitting in a puddle of juice and spits due to boiling outside the wick
2) under powered/too much air, the coil is too cool, localized evaporation occurs causing juice elsewhere in the wick to be ejected as a hot liquid
3) not enough air/ too much power, so much liquid is vaporized in a short time the particles collide in the chamber forming larger droplets
Looking on amazon it's 11.50 for 80 KGd pads. Not a bad price tho. I remember when it was twice that a few months back. It was like over 20 bucks. Not even sure it was that many pads either.
I don't see much on this thread about this. But what do you guys think about vaping drippers in tc? Sounds like a lot of you are using steel, Nichrome, and kanthal and are even using mech mods. Which is fine. I just got my first tc mod and I'm getting good results using nickel in a magma. No dry hits is such a beautiful thing
I like using my Magma with Ni200 as well. The Velocity works pretty well with Ni200 as well because you have a lot of room to work with so the larger Ni200 coils are easy to fit in. I've used a single Ni200 coil with the Derringer as well and really enjoyed it. Gonna try a single Ni200 coil in the Tugboat V2 tonight and see what the vape is like. I do find that dual coils in TC seem to be finicky. They start off vaping well but after a couple of days the performance is off. Single coil gives me no issues.
I find I have to crank up the temp a bit to get a vape close to what I'm used to with Kanthal. 500Fish for dual coil and 430-450 for single coil.
In TC I just vape at a higer temp then most (I assume)

Went where I haven't gone before last night. Put dual Claptons (premade) in the Royal Hunter. Flavor is good. Ramp up takes awhile. .43ohms. Bit of a tight fit with the negative legs a little hunched up due to shortness. I'd be inclined to get the roll of UD to try some that are a little longer.
