Tugboat V3 update.....Nothing special. The other tugboats are better, I'd say unless you REALLY love flawless, move on. They should of stuck with either just top air flow or just side air flow, both together just aren't that spectacular. And it's cramped in there, it wasn't fun to build this at all, and wicking was a pain cause I never bent the one lead out of the way since I didn't think it would be a problem, wrong. And what's the point of having 2 air flow options if you can't even shut one off, stupid. And to get your coils directly under that top air flow your coils will damn near be touching the side wall in front of the other air flow holes. Don't over drip cause you'll be drinking your juice. I'll give it one more update after I spend more time with it and put another build in there, I feel like a smaller coil and gauge might benefit this a lot more. I'm just really ...... they have both air flow options and there both just not even thought out well at all, not even a little bit. If this just had top air flow it would be pretty awesome. But unfortunately at this point it's sub par to say the least, in my opinion.

I hadn't noticed that the bottom part of the atty didn't detach. Wow! That is cramped and looks like a pain to wick! I first saw the deck and thought of the Vortice from VaporShark and I guess I thought it would've been detachable like that one.

Yup same thoughts here. They made a lot of mistakes with this honestly. And it's almost like they carried over stuff from the other tugboats into this one. Which again, was a mistake. This should of been a whole other beast but with the same taste and flare of the original tugboats. Not carrying over there trade mark sunken down into the juice well post holes/tiny crappy drilled post holes and tight working space into there new project. Except this V3 took those traits and amplified them.

Yeah, the NarDA's flavor just blew me away from the first draw. I wonder if Nareg is going to come up with other RDAs or not. I'm actually hoping he puts out a regulated mod, either SX350J or DNA200....[snip]

Yeah, I am kinda feeling the same way. I really appreciate everything about how he is handling his new-found fame, how he is conducting his business and mostly, what he has made. He sure seems to have a small empire just waiting.

I actually feel like this was a rushed product that had absolutely no marketing or promotion behind it. There is no hype leading up to it. In fact the only reason I knew about it was from their Instagram page.

Thanks. I might try to sell this tugboat and get one then.
Just a heads up, the airflow is probably a lot more restricted than the Tugboat V3. Not sure if that matters to you or not just throwing it out there. You can lung hit it but it is restricted. Almost perfect for me. The Hobo is probably the perfect amount of airflow but the NarDA beats it for flavor.

Found another thing I don't like about the tugboat V3. I now have a pool of juice collecting around the top portion of the top air flow, right under the top cap part. Not sure if you can see it in the pic but I tried. This part of the whole rda is yet another part that is pointless, yes I get why it's there but it's not needed, the aeolus v2 pro did it right.

I had the same problem too. I've just been dripping straight through the drip tip in top airflow mode.

As for airflow on the narda, I always found I liked the Aeolus v2 pro with only 2 of the airholes open on the topcap. I don't like an airy draw. I like a tight warm dense vape

That's funny you say that cause I've actually been using my aeolus v2 pro a lot lately. And that's exactly how I use mine too, 2 air holes open. Great vape. Still hate the design but I can't deny it's vape quality.

The draw on that atty is one of the best, ever!

See, I didn't give the aeolus v2 pro a fair shake when I got it just cause I hated that damn reverse threaded well wall so much. And to this day I still cannot get it to become completely flush down, it's just too hard and I don't wanna ruin any of the metal on it. But, yes it's a very nice vape indeed, you can't take that away from it. If the tugboat had its deck set up like the hobo 3.1 and had JUST the top air flow of the aeolus v2 pro, it would be a beast of an rda.

Re: gap.

Have you tried screwing down the deck with a bit of extra torque before putting on the barrel? That is what did it for me, finally! But I too did not like a lot of the design choices of that atty and that ultimately ruined it for me, but the feeling of the vape was stellar.

Yes sir! I've tried everything brother trust me lol. I've even gotten it to the point of getting it stuck on stuff before. I wish I had one of those rubber wrenches or rubber pliers, now THAT would do the trick. But unfortunately I dont, at least yet I don't.

:D

I always wondered why all the pics form SC showed the gap. I felt like they didn't even really know how to get rid of it.

Not that I am advocating for more money to be thrown out there, but have you considered the Aeolus Lite? It's pretty damned inexpensive and doesn't have the reverse threading, yet it does have the same airflow set-up.

I have actually lol I think the v2 pro is a little smaller in size which I like. Plus I sold my cloud cap for the v1 which I could of used on the lite. I actually had it in my hand the day I bought the tugboat v3, which I regret but at the same time I couldn't justify it with me already having a v2 pro at home. Maybe I shoulda just got that instead....
