So, my brand new setup: VS rDNA (which is totally awesome) and my 1st rda a Veritas. Built my 1st 3 coils tonight. 3.3ohm (trashed), 1.6, 1.5 checked with my new smoketec ohm meter. Using the 1.6ohm at 14W- 1st wicked with the local vape shops cotton they gave me a free sample of, and it browned within 4pulls. Re-coiled and wicked with CVS sterile cotton boiled once, and its last about 6-8-10 pulls. I wicked it just like Rip trippers video.

What can I do to increase my pull to refill time without browning my wicks? Is a wick junk once its got a burnt spot? Also, is it normal for an RDA to have an occasional pop and crackle while drawing?

Side note: I came from an Vamo V5, which broke in 2 days, to an eGO-V and Nauty tank. My new setup is like night and day! I can finally "taste" what everybody was talking about flavor wise and the clouds are just insane using Baker and white wind chill at 12mg .... its soooooo intense lol. I love it!

15year newport smoker, smoke free for 1.5 weeks!

Hey Pedro, Welcome to vaping and the forum. It's kept me off the analogs for over 2 years now, and I hope it works for you. I've also got a veritas and I just did my first build. 8 wrap vertical coil of 24 gauge kanthal, sitting at .8ohms.

I use organic Japanese cotton and it turns brown or yellow gold because of my juice, instantly. After a couple days, if I'm using a sweet juice the sugars in the juice will turn blacker and chunky around the coil, while staying the color of the juice in the areas not exposed to direct heat. All the while the flavor and vapor production remain great. This is normal.

Also, yes, pops/crackles/gurgles are totally normal. Keep your wicks wet and build within your comfort level, it's not gonna be a problem.
