I personally am not a huge fan of rayon in my rdas. I do prefer it in my rtas though. I find the flavor to be a bit more true and cleaner tasting. I still for some reason find that Japanese cotton seems to wick and cloud better in my drippers than rayon ever has.

I dunno... I still use rayon in my drippers... definitely wicks better than I could ever get from cotton... even at the resistances that you and I run. I could hardly ever get cotton to go completely dry. Rayon on the other hand... if I'm not careful it'll be completely dry before I notice a drop in flavor, and there won't be a single drop in the deck. Just have to trim the tails right. And the clouds are every bit as good as I got out of cotton... but I always had trouble getting the density right with cotton builds, so that may be part of it.

where can one acquire vape safe rayon?

(dont say vape shop, dont say vape shop, dont say vape shop)
:glug::glug:

Lol, I only say that because the vape shops here are terrible!

Trust me... it is SOOOOOo worth giving it a shot!! And check out the Rayon thread for all the tips and tricks on how to use it... it is not like cotton (you need more of it.. tighter inside the coil)

I dont need it to go completely dry, I need it to stay wet. I find the density of vapor produced is better with ... cotton vs rayon. I find the flavor much better with rayon.

LOL! Trust me... you don't WANT it to go completely dry! I've just never been able to get cotton to do that... it's very useful with temp control... you can vape a tank bone dry and still never get a dry hit.
Speaking of tanks, and since we're both pretty hardcore cloud chasers, have you tried the Silver Play V2 yet? That thing is awesome, man. Great airflow, huge juice channels, dual coil and 4.5-5ml capacity. It's supposed to be compatible with a bunch of the kayfun parts, but I'm not interested in that... (you have to use the kayfun chimney then, and it's way more constricted than the SP's chimney). If you haven't seen it, check it out and lemme know what you think. For me, it was definitely worth the money...

How's the Cthulhu? I haven't paid a lot of attention to the market lately, but that one does look pretty decent. Very similar to the SP, except that the SP also brings air in through the negative posts...

Its not bad. 6mm worth of air so its pretty decent for an rta. Takes a little getting used to how to wick it. The deck is a bit small so squeezing any type of intricate 3mm ID coils wont work. All in all it preforms like a mid grade rda. Warm flavorful and pretty thick vapor if you can get a build that you can vape around 50-60 watts

The SP is much the same. I usually build 2.9mm coils, but in the SP I have to back it down to 2.4mm (LOL my screwdriver kit has odd sizes... why couldn't they just make it 2.5 and 3?) But yeah, the wicking is a little tricky too. I'm finding that less is more... just barely get it into the channel and it's working pretty good. I still need to pick up some titanium wire so that I can get a decent temp control build in it... too many wraps required with nickel wire for that tiny deck. I keep it on the Invader Mini (which is why I bought it in the first place). So I'm limited to 50W anyway. Right now I've got it wrapped at .75 ohm dual coils with kanthal, and it's hitting pretty solid at 50W. A little warm, fairly thick, and still rather flavorful now that I've got the wicking dialed in a bit better.

3 days sounds about what I used to use my protank coils for before rewicking.
(I'd just replace the coil and put the old one to soak, then on sundays i do a batch job rewicking.)

Now i use multiple devices, and basically I do some rewicking/maintenance on sundays as required.

Really, two to three days isn't that out of line with my experience. Depending on what I am vaping and at what power, I usually go around 2 to 3 days with cotton and maybe 5-7 days with rayon before the taste starts to get a little funky.

I typically get a week or more out of rayon wicks in my rdas, longer in my tanks. I didn't want to get the forever box from Sally when I decided to try rayon, so I went with Delasco rayon balls. I still haven't made a dent in the bag and it's been many months.

Oh, and size 13 Chuck Taylors or Reef flip flops (with the bottle opener in the sole, of course!).
