Years ago I quit using carts after taking many apart after a few days use and really don't like poly fumes. I do like the cart concept. This is my solution. I convert most of my drippers into carts. I use hemp and/or ceramic wicks, 28g, 30g, or ribbon kanthal, and cotton filler. I do not do sub ohm, but most of my setups are 1.4 to 1.8 ohms. These are a few of my setups, some have been drilled out for BF.

BJ43, curious about the one on the far right... next to the A7... what is it?

BTW, setups look good. i was just never able to get over the stigma of the burnt carto taste... so anything that burns or metls wont go into my rebuildables.

but if it works for you, keep it up.

Does anyone know where I can get those little screws that fit into those posts? One of my drippers shipped without them...
I like the idea. I found a video on yuotube while I was studying up on this Ekowool stuff, watch it to the end and check out those clouds!:

I went to my local shop and managed to get about 4" of the Ekowool, and it has multiple uses (wrapping the top of a genny style SS wick as insulation between wick and coil, wicks...) and so I ordered a few meters in different sizes on ebay. I can't wait to get experimenting with it. It's really unbelievable stuff when you see someone torch it and it stays white like new...

That's a mini IGO. I don't use cartos because of poly melt or burn, but I fear silica, ecowool, 116, shards even more. My Diy carts if they burn are not that harmful. Using a small Ao wick for the coil, hemp legs to feed the Ao wick and cotton filler, I have never had any burn taste. You can see in the pics the coils are on one side in open air, nothing burnable touching the coils. The cotton filler has the added advantage of reducing the cap volume.

Hobby shop... I do not live very near to one of those. Of course I had already gone to Lowe's and Home Depot, Radio Shack and even Ace but no dice at any of those, maybe they just don't have them at the particular stores I went to. They are difficult to come across in 2 mm size for any bit but a hobby shop is a place where you would find scaled down smaller pieces like this. Thank you.

Here is mine

A7 Atty, 28g 2ohm "micro" coil, vertical ceramic wick, surrounded by cotton

The coil ohm needs to be dropped by around half, I just didn't want to be short. Good thing the DNA has lots of power on tap, it vaped pretty swell at 15 watts but took a little time to get going. I used the A7 center air pin as one connection and one of the posts for the other.

Next step is to drop the coil to ~1-1.2 ohms and very carefully reduce the OD of the coil. The hole in wick is ~2.5mm and I found a screw that screws into the wick/coil real nice, then I chuck the excess length of the screw into a hand drill, run the drill with my left hand and the dremel with diamond disk with my right, and it works pretty good.

Long RDA burn on a small Ao wick 1.48 ohm 28g, 2mm hemp legs and cotton filler on a clone kicked Chi Chi showing 11.8 watts under load. This burn shows great vapor even next to an open breezy window. One of my favorite setups, gives me a half hour of vaping before needing a squirt of juice. Clic pic for video.
