Not really reading through 16 pages of posts, but personally it sounds more like a kidney infection rather than something related to vaping. Since vaping is primarily focused around the mouth, throat and lungs, it's a pretty long shot that after all this time it would severely effect your kidneys in this way. Like everyone else said, you should definitely visit the doctor, or the emergency room if the pain is interfering with your daily functions.
They are a professed medical professional...they can vape with their kidneys while flying a helicopter dressed as a troll if'n they want to...

I just got my sig 150watt I only have a 13650 so I filled up the rest of the space with pennies. I have a .001 ohm coil pushed all the way up to 150 watts. I pushed the button and now my face feels really hot and the liquid that splashed on my face when the tank exploded changed to red. You guys shouldn't buy any juice from Prestone I think the flavor name was Anti-Freeze (weird name I know, juice names are crazy these days). Also I think its causing an ingrown hair on my left big toe.

I have a Philips ultrasound machine and I am fully trained in its use. If it was a stone then i'd spot it. I am 45 and I vape a lot, but very little nicotine.

Ok, only 26 posts read and I officially declare troll and call this thread as a waste of time. Having had kidney ultrasound I sure as hell would like to know how you can convince us you can actually pull that off as a self-diagnostic. Actually - I don't care because your credibility just dropped to zero.

My thumb was hurting earlier, and I knew it was vaping related. Had to be. Then I watched the ball drop, drank a large glass of Absinthe, and started looking at air rifles online. I thought I'd check out the vaping forums and see what Ocey was up to. Ran into this thread and remembered that I hit my thumb a glancing blow with a nine pound sledgehammer earlier tonight. Hell of a thing.

Oh, and I developed a rash on the backside of my left knee. It's probably vaping related. Or it could be where the strap on my chaps rubs, but I doubt it. Happy New Year everybody!

From what I understand, you have to insert the ultrasound wand anally if you are self-diagnosing. What I've heard, anyways...
...I wouldn't put much stock in that, but what do I know? I'm a welder, not a medical equipment service person or whatever.

I think you need to get to the ER STAT!!!
Yep. I should.

I just noticed your avatar seems to have wing like appendages sprouting for her shoulders...
...you should probably see a doctor about that. Might be a genetic defect. ;)

Edit: ...and yes, I'm covered in spines. It's okay, they are hollow. It helps me float.
Edit 2: The gas mask keeps me safe from SARS. It does make vaping awkward though. :D

First of all cjmckay, as another member so brilliantly said a while back: "My father always said 'Don't go to a barber to do your taxes'". You willl not receive qualified medical advice on a general vaping forum. If your problem continues, see a real doctor.

six hours off of the new flavor has completely removed the problem.

This is ENTIRELY possible.

There are other posts on this and others forums by long term vapers with credibility who have had conditions like chronic gastritis getting worse if they vape too much or vape higher nic. There are many conditions that dehydrating effect of vaping can worsen (one of the problems I am having despite increased water intake). For others it is a flavor, or something simple as cinnamon, for others the PG ratio or any PG at all.

cjmckay---By the way, your post about the helicopter was fascinating.

Having read Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman (by Richard Feynman, winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, who thrived on outrageous adventures) your helicopter experiment would fit right in. :)

He would have loved your post about the helicopters. He used to make "ant elevators" on windowsills out of matchboxes and string.
(Just expect that if you are quirky, some creative ideas will be met with ridicule, esp. when describing them in a general population. ;) )

Since vaping is primarily focused around the mouth, throat and lungs, it's a pretty long shot that after all this time it would severely effect your kidneys in this way.

Entirely untrue. There are vapers on this and other forums who have quite a bit of trouble with hygroscopic substances (like PG) and the dehydration they cause, and which definitely have an effect on the kidneys. Dehydration can be a chronic condition in some people and it can affect your kidney function and cause kidney stones to develop.

Interesting that you did not post up his really GOOD contributions to the forum.

He has a background in electronics, and seems to understand ecigs pretty well.

And he made a really nice mod out of balsa wood:

Everone, if you are willing to see them with fresh eyes, often has something valuable to contribute.

and sometimes, we misfire. Everyone here does.

Then why the alarming thread title?

Maybe that is what he was *feeling* at the time he posted?

Granted, sometimes people don't express themselves well, and use the wrong wording to start a topic, etc. But I so hate these "high school hallways" types of bashing fellow members because they have a concern....

I have a certain amount of credibility since I've vaped for over 29 months. I have been trying to trace a health problem that, with a lot of research, is most definitely vaping-related. That means that, even if it isn't happening to YOU, it is happening to ME.

What I find interesting is how a "scientist" (Kurt the chemist) handled that previous topic from the poster back in 2012. The responses were compassionate.....There was none of this high school hallway ganging up and ridicule going on. The poster had some health problems that vaping would not be good for.

Vaping isn't for everyone, and having followed this forum since June 2012 I have seen several who actually did have to give it up. Others left and never described their problems.....maybe for fear of being ridiculed.

Go have a drink it's New Years.
You have mentioned in quite a few posts about being inebriated....maybe it's just the holidays.

I know that I plan on having a Bloody Mary or White Russian or Mimosa when I go with some friends to brunch today. Meh, maybe all of the above. Decent chance that I will have a few drinks later too, but that is what January 1st is for. Especially when I was a good boy last night and home several hours before midnight all nice and sober.

I honestly hope he is..or in the ER at least..trying to picture doing a kidney ultrasound on oneself would be interesting to say the least.

as an RN and one who's had a major kidney infection two years ago that damn near killed me because "oh I can self treat this" trust me...get to a hospital/doctor's office and INSIST we investigate the source of this pain (lower back right and left of the spine that might radiate medially if it's stones) but some stones are very minute but still will hurt like the devil to pass. Or infection, I've never had a bladder infection so after visiting my physician we were on a wait and see a dip stick reveled no abnormalities. I'm assuming you did a dip stick OP?? But it just bypassed that and until it was very bad no bacterial was detected in the urine, once it looked like coffee though yeah then I was believed I had a kidney infection at the ER at 2am.

because I know this pain is my body's way of saying "hey something is wrong".

maybe you lifted the ultra sound and hurt your back? *lol* that can happen as as you know because most medical appliance sales folks think they have a medical degree too *rolly eyes* that it can be referred pain.

either way GO to physician or ER and assert yourself as well as you have here in the forums OP.:glare:

best of luck!! and happy New Year :toast:
