@daath the hangout don't have to replace the event you created I was thinking more of a place to get real time answers yes. I'm part or a group hangout and when someone posts a question who ever has an answer responds or throws in an idea of what may fix the issue or whatever they ask about. I'm not sure how many people use hangouts heck it could even be a Irc room.
I've never been to NY so can't help ya there but you could ask Google Now & get some ideas. If I knew how to build apps I would build it but I'm lost there but on my list to learn cause it would be a good tool to have in my geek tool box.

Hey guys

I'm currently on holiday in New York (our hotel is in NJ though) - Are there any good vaping places that I should visit? Prefeably in NJ or on Manhattan? I have written three places down: Beyond Vape, Henley and Vape NY.

Any input from you guys would be great :) Non-vaping related places will also do :) Maybe they belong in a PM and not in this thread though? :)

Happy vaping!

20 mins from GW bridge located in NJ nice place easy to get to:)

Thanks! Noted - Nearest location is 11 miles from our hotel. I might try it.

I was at Beyond Vapes in East Village today - Weird place - Totally fogged ;) It seemed like they were a group of friends there, talking. An employee finally came over - I felt like he wanted to go back and talk to his friends. I asked to sample some stuff - He said something about they didn't have any nicotine?! I asked for some Aspire BVC coils, but they didn't have any. I ended up just leaving.

I went to Vape NY a bit further south - Small place, but they were much more friendly. Bought some BVC coils, sampled some of their juice. Some was ok, some I didn't particularly care for. But they were nice, so I helped the employee out with a customer ;)

Hello daath, hope you are enjoying your time in NYC. There's always lots to do.

I've been enjoying your e-liquid-recipes site lately, thanks for your hard work on it. I've encountered an issue however and am not certain if you are able to resolve it.

When searching or inputting a flavor I've seen multiple vendor abbreviations for the same vendor. For example, Inawera flavors come up and Inawera, INA, Inawera Flavors etc...same with other vendors.

Are you able to eliminate multiple abbreviations for vendors and keep those to your suggested list or will we have to live with it?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Soignee!

We have been enjoying NYC immensely! There is way too much to do - we can't do everything we want :p We'll just have to come back some time :)

Yes, that is the biggest problem of .................... - I've (on purpose) given too much freedom with flavor names. For now, me and a few active users are using the duplicate checker - we're eliminating a lot, but far far from all. I have a plan though. The plan requires me to have some time to implement a new scheme for flavorings (I will be introducing manufacturers at some point) - That should eliminate most of it.

Unfortunately I can't really give you an ETA on it, but it has been bugging me for a very long time now, so I feel fairly motivated to fix it ;)

In the meantime, I hope you'll still find the site useful!

Happy vaping!

Man I wish I had more time to work on ELR :) I get some nice feature requests, and I write them all down.

One thing that was requested that I have implemented, is the small "i"-symbol to the right of the recipe name, in the lists. Click that, and you will see the ingredients of the recipe, so you more quickly can see if you have the ingredients. I don't know if you'll find it useful, but I thought it was a nice idea.

That's awesome, thanks! And thanks for keeping track of our requests.

Hey guys!

I am thrilled tonight, to launch a feature that I wanted from the beginning. The problem was that it was very very hard to actually make. Or, I could make it, but it would be incredibly hard on the server, and take a long time to execute, leaving the page hanging.

Tonight I cracked it!

I have implemented my most requested feature. The long sought for "What can I make with what I have?!".

Some important things to note:

  • Do not be surprised at how little you can make. Remember, if you have 3 flavors, the recipes must contain EXACTLY one or more of these flavors. No more.
  • It is really really important that you use the common names in your recipes. "Hunny" (that is used by you alone) is no good, when you really meant "Honey (TPA)" that is used by 171 others.

Also, if you ever used the flavor list or the duplicate finder, you will notice that it is 100 faster now!

Anyway! I hope you like it!

Happy vaping guys!

Hey guys

I just wanted to let you know, in case you have had problems with .................... and iPhones.

Some users, who used the small button in the top right corner to navigate, have had their recipes deleted. I didn't have access to an iPhone, but I did use my iPad. I finally figured out what was going on: The fancy modal-window that is used to confirm that you really want to delete the recipe was messing with the navigation button (even though the dialog was invisible)!

The fancy modal dialog is now gone, replaced with a built in confirmation dialog and the bug is gone!

Happy vaping (again!)

Lots of changes!

I was contacted by a couple of users that requested a feature that I had been missing myself: A shopping list. If you go to the flavor details page of a flavor, you can now add the flavor to your shopping list.

The shoppinglist itself is available from "My Page".

You can now update your notes and rating of a flavor through the flavor details page itself. It was a bummer to have to go to the stash to do that.

The stash now contains several other properties: Flavor container size in ml and the cost of that. Also you can specify the carrier liquid (PG/VG/other) of the flavor plus the weight per ml. These values are automatically used when present, creating recipes. If you don't write anything, or remove what you have previously written, default values apply: Flavors are PG and the weight of PG-flavors are 1.09, VG-flavors 1.16 and other-flavors 0.98.

You can specify what percentage you like to mix, when mixing the flavor as a SINGLE flavor recipe. This will be used to enrich the flavor details page. (Not implemented yet).

If you go to update your profile, you will find a boat load of new fields: Nicotine container size (ml), nicotine price, PG container size (ml), PG price etc.

The price fields will be used to calculate a price for the mixes you do. (Not implemented yet).

These changes opens up the possibility to track how much of a liquid you have on hand. (Not implemented yet).

I hope you like it! Also, I'm tired, so I might have forgotten something :)

Happy vaping!

Awesome site, but I cant see any of the percentages on any recipe I click on. Is there a setting I missed somewhere?

That doesn't sound good - Can I see a screen shot? What browser do you use? Perhaps try to clear your cache... It should look like this: 2014-12-08_15h38_04.jpg

Perhaps you're getting a javascript error?

Small change on e-liquid recipes, but nice enough if you don't want to click on each recipe: There is now a checkbox that filters out all the single flavor recipes.

It works on the main list/search, search by flavor stash and "What can I make"!

I know the UI is getting a bit crowded, and I plan to do ...something... about it at some point ;)

I hope you find it useful!

Ok, a few changes! There is a lot of small tweaks! First of all, I wanted to add some new functionality on the recipes, but it was getting really crowded with buttons. Show I moved them all into an "action button", beside the recipe name. This is where you will find the "Print", "Adapt this", "Edit" and "Delete".

There are a few new options: There are four new copy to clipboard items:

  • Copy as markdown (used with reddit)
  • Copy as BBCODE (used with some other forums)
  • Copy as HTML-text
  • Copy as real HTML (for pasting in to rich text editors)
Not all forums that use markdown and BBCODE support tables, and this uses tables, so don't be surprised if it doesn't look right everywhere.

Do you have an ADV? Are you tired of constantly mixing all the flavors again and again? Why not try to make a flavor base? It's your recipe, but only the flavoring! That way you only measure off from ONE flavor when you mix your ADV! Try it! Click the action button and select "Make flavor base"!

For those of you who don't feel like mixing right now, or don't feel like buying the flavors needed for a recipe, you can now ORDER the recipe from the awesome VapeCrafter-site! They have more or less EVERY flavor you can imagine! Try them out!

You can now sort on the recipes on the flavor details page. That was missing.
