I've never had a problem getting the dropper or the bottles clean and flavor free. Hot soapy water with a cold water rinse. On the droppers just soak up some of the hot soapy water completely into the bulb a few times and then do the same thing again in the cold rinse. I reuse my empty TW bottles and droppers all the time.

Ethyl Maltol is sold diluted in PG as Cotton Candy Flavor by Perfumer's Apprentice. It's also an ingredient in ULTRApure at InnoVapor and ECOpure by Intellicig, which both have a light tobacco flavor. It is reported to take the edge off of other strong/sharp flavors and add some sweetness. For example, many people use it with Tobacco Absolute, a very strong flavor.

This thread offers some tips and opinions on using it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/diy-e-liquid/59922-help-ethyl-maltol-solution.html.

Some bottles that had minty flavours in them I tend to re-use for mint; that one sticks. Not really a problem, though, and I guess if I wanted I could get rid of that, too.

Absolutely no point in wasting money for new bottles every time. When they start breaking, as the clear ones will do, I'll replace them. But not before that.
