Would it be worth you getting a sample pack with small amounts of different gauge wire and ribbon and small amounts of different wicking material? You might not use it all, but it would be a good way of finding out your preferences cheaply and then bulk order what worked best for you?

and when I tried them with cotton wicks that was it, I recoiled brand new replacement heads as I liked the vape so much!

I like the idea of using cotton balls does it really make a difference?

How often do you need to change the wool out?

If I'm vaping same juice on a standard 2.2 - 2.5 ohm coil in the protank I can get a week - 2 weeks before it tastes nasty.
You literally need just enough to twist through the coil snug, but not tight, as it swells like mad when it soaks the juice up - it helps to wet the end your threading through a little to make it easier.
If I switch juice I change cotton because it's so cheap to do so and getting pure flavour of the juice with no lingering from previous juice, up to you though, I'm just OCD like that!
Cotton gives me the 'purest' vape ever, like all I taste is the juice.
You may be different but for the cost of 100 balls it's pennies to not try and will save you a few bob if you like it!
Just make sure it's organic cotton so you know it's free of pesticides and stuff - you can boil and let them dry to be super cautious but I'm too lazy for that!

Already on it!!

I have not ohms tester though! Do I need one?

An ohm meter is not totally necessary, but they are handy to have. with the 32 awg wire you have, along with the 1 mm ekowool i would say that a 8 wrap should give you around 1.8 ohm`s.

If you just look on e-bay for a multi meter, you can pick one up for about 3 Quid. (better than guesswork)

Well Manicmama has very kindly sending me her a unused mod which I think has a OHM function on it which will be like a tester?

Ok so I had a little go my self.

This is what i ended up with!

It vapes but there isn't much vapout.

I used the EKOWOOL then tried another bit ontop as a flavour wick but when trimming it (which is a nightmare it's so frizzy!) it just come out.

I think the 1mm might be to thin? There's a gap between the wick and the metal plug.

It doesn`t really matter if there is a gap ! have you vaped it ? If there is a problem you can just double your wick up.

Them coils in the pics look pretty good to me, it is better and easier to use nail clippers for trimming wick and wire mate.

Yes BG, the mini zmax has ability to read ohms - this just reminded me to print off the menu functions and how to use for you! Will do it soon as the other half is done on laptop.
Are you making regular coils or micro?
If the evod heads are similar to protank heads, the 32 used to give me 2.2 - 2.5 ohms on a 5/4 wrap round a 2.2mm drill blank. 6/5 gave me around 2.8.
As long as your ohms are above 1.2 (shouldn't be a problem with 32 even if you did 4/3 wraps I'd imagine) then the zmax should fire it and you can increase or decrease the power to get your sweet spot with it.
Would you like me to chuck you a few feet of my 30ga wire to play with? Resistance is lower but much easier to manipulate the wire - I get the beauty of micro coils now lol!
Also organic cotton made all the difference to my vape. I need to get some ekowool though, I wanna just try it lol.
I don't fancy ss mesh just yet.
