I've only been vaping for a few months, and started out with menthol cartomizers that came with my stuff.(Nothing fancy, 808 battery because I didn't want to spend a ton at first.) Not great, but tolerable, and I went from smoking two packs a day to under a pack a week. Have since started using clearomizers and was so excited with my first order of juice samples. Yuck. I can't find anything that is even remotely tolerable. Have tried at least fifteen different juices from a handful of vendors. I know taste is subjective, but when everybody says something is great and to me it tastes like crap, I can't help but think there must be something off with me. I have ordered from reputable vendors (including Vaperite, the worst of the worst, and Alice in Vapeland), tried different blends of pg and vg, organic, non organic, usa made, china made, and steeped, steeped steeped. Everything tastes like soap, perfume and from one vendor, BO. I'm back to over a pack of analogs a day and have to force myself to suffer through the least offensive juices. I'm not looking for tobacco flavors, those are the worst to me, but something sweet that doesn't make me gag. Help please! I'm just about ready to give up and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Hi Kittencat, I am sorry to hear you are having so many issues. Tell me which Specific clearos you are using, and which liquids(from where,strength and pg/vg ratio) you where least put off by?

If you get a big TH Throat Hit and it tastes burnt then you may have a problem with to high a voltage or low a resistance/ohms. You may want to go to USA Made Vapor Renu : Electronic Cigarettes Refill Cartridges : Candy Flavorings : E Cig Liquid Nicotine : Cartomizer Refills : Menthol E-Liquid : Flavoring Oils : E Cigarette Refills and try theirs. You can custom order it with the nic content you want and try it with a higher PG and maybe double the flavor. I got off tobacco flavors very quick and never went back. Try a sample pack maybe. I have loved everything I got from them. Like Maple Cured Bacon and Peanut butter cup. If you vape menthol stuff I think it will dull you taste buds. Cinnamon and clove and some strong peppermint will also.

Give your tastebuds time to heal from smoking,then you'll get better flavor.I have tried a bunch of juices,most of them are stuff others rave about and to me they have little or bad flavor.

A lot of the time new vapers are looking for something called Throat hit, to put it in lehmans (sp? LOL) terms its pretty much how it feels when you inhale. While smoking cigarettes you become used to the burning sensation of smoking, its almost like inhalling very very very very tiny needles actually if you think about it(cigarette smoke anyways, to me it felt that way in a good way) So you might be interested in something more PG based maybe a 70/30 pg/vg ration would be something up your alley.
As with flavor, it sounds like you are getting pretty down about this and you have to come to the realization that if you think everything is going to taste like crap in the future or you don't have the complete mindset on giving cigarettes up your brain will play tricks on you (this is just from my personal experience btw) and you won't really be taken by any flavor in particular. I would recommend something you really like though outside of vaping. Like a good desert or melon/fruit, or even just a good candy would be an awesome place to start with. Keep in mind that you will NOT be able to find the same taste from vaping strawberry, for example, as you would eating a real one. That sounds stupid but many people come into vaping expecting to get the real thing outside of tobacco/mint flavors.
I hope i didn't sound to rude there but I just wanted to give some tips that really helped me out when i first quit.
We can give you all the tips in the world but when it comes down to it, its all about what you REALLLLLY want.

One that worked for me when I first started was Backwoods brew's malty toffee. Its 30/70, so you get lots of vapor. It is a very mellow vape. Give it a try, but don't give up!
You might also try some unflavored juice, perhaps adding a little sweetener. That's what I do when everything tastes lousy.
I just found a juice I really like, and it sounds like it might fit the bill for you. It's called Gandalf, sold by Heather's Heavenly Vapes, and it seems to be pretty popular. It's in the tobacco section, but I wouldn't really consider it a tobacco juice. To me (although it hasn't steeped yet) it tastes like agave (not too sweet, though) with a hint of pipe tobacco. It's pretty mild, but tastes good. Good luck on your search.
I see you're from NY. I don't know where in NY but there's a shop up in the Buffalo area that's called Juicy Vapor. You can order from them online also. They seem to have a better quality and taste than where I got my original kit and some juice from. I'm not an experienced vapor, only been 10 days so I don't have a wide range of different places or flavors to suggest but I enjoyed all 3 liquids I got from Juicy...ecto plasma, ecto chill and cinnamon clove. Plasma was a sweet lemon/lime mixture, Chill is plasma with menthol and cinnamon clove was very similar to Djarum Black in my opinion.
Also Juicy seems to be a little pricier than other vendors others on here have sworn by.

I can't imagine smoking and vaping at the same time because I used vaping to quit smoking. Cold. AltCig has some sweet vapes with alot of flavor. Gooey Butter Cake, Vanilla Love and Churro. Clouds of Vapor and Heathers Heavenly Vapes also have good flavor. Whatever you decide I would suggest that you quit smoking and try just vaping for a couple of weeks, maybe then you'll get a better taste for vapors.
Since you like menthol, do a test order from smokeless image dot com. you can get prefilled cartos for a decent price, and their stuff is 808. get some prefilled cartos in menthol ice and menthol burst. Then if you like the flavors you can order just the juice and refill the cartos or use it in a clearomizer. Their juice does not kill cartos or clearomizer wicks/coils, i ran 30ml of one of their flavors through a eGo mega dual coil cartomizer and it is still going.
I was like you, ready to give up then i found SI, they are my main staple now but i still try juice from other vendors for variety. If i get juice from somewhere else and it is not good, at least i know i still have my SI juice and having that i know i will stay off analogs.

As aziffel said, give your taste buds time to heal and adjust. It took me a little while to adjust to the tastes of vaping and is still changing day to day.

Seconded... if you are anywhere near Buffalo, go stop into JV's shop. I'm pretty sure they have nearly 1,000 flavors now, and several hundred of them are available for sampling in the shop. You can sit and vape all day until you find something that works well for you. They are a little on the pricey side, but it's damn good juice.
this could also be a sinus and dehydration problem.
a lot of smokers are dehydrated and never realize it because cigarettes taste like crap no matter what you do. But we want vapor to taste good so we really notice when something is off.
most of your sense of taste is in the sinus - if its dried out we wont taste foods etc very well.
since vaping also dries you out you get a double whammy.
try drinking more water and also using a saline sinus spray. maybe even a humidifier if you live in a dry climate.
