I lost one 801 Addy right out of the box, hit a few times and died. Wrote that one off as a bad atty. Had two others go bad after I tried to "fix" them when they weren't vaping good. Tried Vodka soak, Coke soak, wash out with water dried them got them good and wicked and they both had a slow death. Now I vape on two attys while two others are draining on a paper towel for a day. Blow them out and use them while the last two I was using drain. Don't do more than give them a day to drain, blow them out and use them. Haven't lost one since I've been doing this. I'm sure eventually they will burn out, but I'm getting good mileage out of them with this system. Remember all attys weren't created equal.

Did it really take this long for someone to say this?

If you clean it, you better let it dry enough.
And if you let it dry enough, you better put some juice on it.
And if you put some juice on it, you better give it time to wick up.
And if you give it time to wick up, you better put some more juice on it.

Seriously.

And if you find that your draw is harder than expected, with little or no vapor then...
You flooded it with too much juice.

So blow it out and start over.
And when I say blow it out I mean really, blow it out hard.
says it all...

Nico, I'm having the same issues you are.

I had 1 day with the carts my 510 came with and went to direct dripping. My 1st atty is toast. I popped in the second, have not cleaned it, except to blow it out from time to time, and I still get that metallic taste after a drag or two after 2 drops of liquid and letting it soak for a minute.

It is extremely frustrating. I have no more atty's, and won't be able to order any until after rent is payed this month.

I also discovered that the starter and PCC kits that I got from Innovapor that were supposed to be the "new and improved" atty's were, in fact, not. Dissapointing. Not to mention that I'm only getting 45 minutes to an hour of vaping from each of my batteries, while my roommates Cylon 510 is still getting 3-4. He doesn't have a PCC, but I do. Is my PCC killing my batteries?

Regardless, my initial infatuation with my 510 is quickly wearing off and turning into dissapointment and frustration.

The only way to know for sure if an atomizer is dead or not is to use a multimeter. And those posters who say they are heavy, heavy vapers and never clean and never lose an atomizer, well, I have some nice property for you for cheap if you believe that. People throw the term "heavy" around quite loosely.

There are some members who have posted pictures of atomizers that they have cut open to show the wick after several months of use with no cleaning at all. The build up of "gunk" on the coil is significant and will break the electrical connections if not removed to some degree.

I can't prove this for a fact, but I do think that those who use DIY liquid with VG have a bigger build up of "gunk".

Bottom line with vaping, whether you clean the atomizers or not, they are basically disposable and one needs to have extras.

Well said they are not meant to last forever. People forget just how much they were spending on analogs and freak out when a $7 atty dies. I was spending $15 a day on analogs so if a atty only lasted me a week no big deal. I'm still saving a ton of money $7 a week for new atty if needed vs $100 for analogs. I figure ecigs are costing me $2 to $3 a day that's juice and hardware factored in. That's 2 new kits every 3 months and 120ml of juice every month. So about $200 every 3 months that's cheap compared to the $1300 I would have spent on analogs.
