I'm looking to get another set up, I just have the one battery right now. I've been looking around, seeing what's out there. I have an ego 650mah. Thinking of stepping up to a twist, but then also considered just stepping up to a 1100mah. There's so much out there. Not quit ready to shell out $100 but want something good. I haven't smoked at all this week, but also haven't bought a pack since the day after I got my set up. So I've already not spent almost $75 on analogs, but I HAVE spent a little over $50 on vaping. I know once I get a good collection of juices (still trying to find what I like before I order bigger bottle) and a couple good batteries and tanks, the savings will increase.

i have been smoke free for a year now spent alot learning all i can tell u is if u are serious about vaping spend the money on a good mod, until then i have a twist 1100 and it was well worth the money

The twist is awesome, and will get you by for a long time. The only problem, is if you dont have 2, then there is down time between charging. if your gonna go ahead and get 2, I really reccomend checking into the zainy.net Young June. With the interchangable 18650 batteries, you get a non stop variable voltage vaping unit.

A battery is a battery. Get the twist or another ego. The money is better spent, NOW, on juice and devices.
Are you using cartomizers now? Perhaps a stardust/Ce4 is a good next step.

That is the worst advice I have read in a while, and coming as your first post I find it strange you would offer advice at all? Spending money on juice isn't going to help when they are looking for a PV? They want to UPGRADE. A cheap chinese battery is comparable to any other would be correct. However, what this person needs is NOT ANOTHER cheap chinese disposable battery. This person needs to get a set up that will SAVE money over the long run with LESS hassle.

As a few posters before me mentioned, you can get a decent PV for less than $60 which is a better regulated battery HOLDER. You buy the battery and charge it outside the unit so you only need to swap out batteries instead of charging the whole thing. The batteries last over a year (versus ~250 charges for the eGo) and are about $10 each. VV Gripper is one, a simple box mod is one, there are several tube styles also (Bolt, Lavatube etc.) and on the upside is the Provari.

There are coupon codes here for a lot of vendors, and with the holidays coming up I am sure they will be having some great sales. After you find the unit you want, do a search for "coupon codes" for that vendor and if they don't have a sale / coupon, find a vendor that does. Most vendors will offer discounts you just have to find them, a common code is ECF10 for ECF members to save 10% off every order. If it isn't on sale or with a coupon code, I don't buy it because I know the minute I do the vendor will have a sale

Best of luck, and congrats on giving up the cigarettes.

This one has a different switch regulater than both of those. You will notice that it has 3 buttons instead of 4.

Thanks for pointing that out. I stand steadfast in my backing of the Young June. I had the twist before that, and for a time, it was good. My ignorance was bliss.. Im sure your splitting hairs when you think about it. To cut to the quick: make sure its Variable Voltage, make sure you get two batteries (don't forget charger!), dont skimp on your tank (bigger is better i.m.o. I hate the stardust ce5 type). GOOGLE "Variable Voltage starter kit", and for godsake, TREAT YO SELF!!!

A "battery is not a battery". There are significant differences between the size of a battery, the circuitry that supports the battery, whether the battery is regulated, variable wattage vs variable voltage, the switch regulation, etc. All of this plays a part in the performance of the PV, especially the consistency and anyone who states a battery is just a battery doesn't understand these differences. If a "battery was just a battery", we could all just buy a "Blu", LOL and be done with it.

Some good suggestions, mostly. Personally I'd skip the "clearomizers" and their various cousins and go with a cartotank or EMSCC or EMDCC type cartomizer. The "clearos" or wick type tanks ALWAYS end up being fiddly and hassle prone at some point.

As for equipment upgrade: If you are determined to get a variable volt device you could look at the Acrylimax or the VV Gripper at Madvapes (no affiliation..just a customer there). Also..don't dismiss the VV box mods. They have some there that are reputed to be quite good. Also Smoktek has the "Varicool" box mods that are highly regarded. All of these choices are under $85...some as low as $40
or so. The L-Ryder LT is a good choice also....but no need to get a kit. With a LT all you need is some batteries and a charger (which can be used with other batteries...a "multi" version for different sizes is best) and the cartotanks or cartomizer or atomizer you want.

If you are willing to let go the "romance" of the variable volt...get a good solid 3.7 or one that can be configured for varying voltages depending on battery used and various configurations. There a mechanical mods (like the telescope) that can take nearly any rechargeable you throw at it..you can customize it to what you want and there aren't any chips or electronics to fail. Using the 18500 or 18350 sized battery you can even "kick" (set wattage device) the telescope. They run around $36 to $45. Or look at something like the eGo T Mod...very reasonable and under $30 for the works. You can replace the power head and it can be switched from "regulated" volts at 3.4 to "unregulated" which means that it will run between 4.1 on down in voltage as the battery is used. When you are looking at a 18650 2000mAh battery...that can take a long time, and it's easy to switch out the batteries to maintain the power you want. (Personally I mostly run 2ohm EMSCCs (mega single coil cartomizers) on the regulated mode). There are many beauties to the eGo T Mod...aside from the replaceable switch you can also switch out the battery tubes (different colors if you want...or to replace a damaged one etc.) They are threaded for both 510 and ego so no adapters needed (same with the telescope). For stealth...look at the 3.7 Gripper. Very nice rig...and solid. With an extension piece on it (for less than $5) you can use cartotanks or EMSCCs or clearos/vivs (if you must) and it does very well. That device runs under $17.

Lots of possibilities ...good stuff all under $100. Most under $50. Have fun and happy shopping! Christmas is coming..that will mean SALES!!!!

Thank you for your opinion. I think, perhaps, you have forgotten what it was like starting out on this journey. Dependable, consistent, available and most of all usable is the criteria for a beginner. A quit kit (510/808/ego) IS a good place to start. Perhaps even (GOD FORBID!!!) Pre-filled cartos. The point is to NOT use tobacco products.
6 months under her belt and I would agree with your opinion of my statement, however...3K posts have just made you forget the hourly battle that the first few weeks can be.
Thanks for your time.

I am pretty happy with my 1300mah Vision Spinner. About $25 at hoosierecig.com. It's cheap, should work with your existing charger, and is VV . Plus it will give you longer run time.

I know I am outside the norm here, but I get a week on a charge. I get the same from my 1100mah KGO batteries. That's vaping about .5ml a day.

If you have the extra cash, picking up an extra charger is a good idea as well. I have 2 KGO, 1 Spinner, 2 usb chargers, and 1 wall adapter. All of that plus 4 mini Novas, 2 atomizers, some pre-filled cartridges, and a 5 pack of cartos. Not a lot, but I think I am in good shape as far as equipment failure. I spent around $120 on this setup.

I really use the Novas full time, the atomizers and cartos are just for backup/testing.
