I figured that I would go thru the hassle of buying/trying several different batteries and comparing them. Something I've learned about vaping is that no matter how many charts you read, how many hour you spend pouring thru information, nothing ever quite works out in real life as it does on paper. I did this for my personal information but I figure other vapers may appreciate it if I passed the info on.
Note, this information is simply from my personal experience. Please don't tear holes in this quoting what the charts show. All testing was done on a mutation x rda with duel parallel 24g kanthal coils at 0.25 ohms. Also note I'm more of a cloud chaser. All juice used is 100% vg base. Wick is Japanese cotton. Single battery mod is a caravela and box is a duel parallel unregulated box mod. I will list the batteries in order from my personal favorite/best performaning to my least favorite.
First off xtar 30amp 2100 mah
While they are advertised as Sony vtc4's (rewrap I guess?) I found them to be the best performing battery in my box as well as my mech mod. Granted the initial feeling was they were less powerful, until you take a long draw. They seem like, as compared to other batteries, there's no curve. From the time I hold the button to the end of a 7 second pull there is no change in the vapor production. Feels even from start to finish.
Sony vtc5
What can I say? We all know the vtc5. The only reason I placed it in second place is during a long draw, twords the end it feels like they die down slightly. But by all means, awesome battery.
Samsung 25r
I can't really tell any difference between these and the vtc5 in my box, BUT I can in my mech mod. Running a single battery I could tell they don't quite have the power the vtc5 does, by a narrow margin.
Sony vtc4
Great battery, but doesn't compare to the first 3 in power or battery life. Great battery all around but the first 3 our perform it.
Mxjo 35amp 2500 mah
Good battery, exactly what you would expect from a 35a battery. But for some reason it seems like it doesn't hold a charge as long as the other 2500mah batteries I've tried. Performance is good, but I can take them down from 100% to 50% charge in about 2 hours of vaping. Heating coils (building or just burning off) really takes it out of these batteries.
LG he2
I don't really want to get in depth on these until I get more in, I THINK I got sent a bad batch. Had problems getting them to charge and once I finally did one vented after 3-5 charge cycles. I really do think I just got a bad batch so don't let this one deter you from this battery. I will update when another pair come in.
Last but not least
Efest 35a 2500mah (purple)
They perform rather well for the price point. I've had them get hot on me a few times which concerned me. I wouldn't recommend using these for anything under 0.30 ohms. Batteries getting hot is never good. But for a casual vaper or a regulated mod, they're good.
All information I'm passing along is from about 2 months of cycling through these batteries. Again, please don't get mad or defensive, this is from pure personal experience nothing more. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for reading and have a great day, vape on my friends
