Real or clone? And why?

clone, Im a 21 yr old ski bum. dont have the money to toss into a real mod when the clone works just fine for me. but to each their own!
Both, it really depends on if you can afford the real thing or not. Nothing is worse then seeing someone sell a ton of nice stuff dirt cheap to pay rent. I own a few really high end devices and they are good. Most of the time im rocking the k100 (empire type clone) or the nemesis clone just because they are disposable in my mind.
clones for sure. they're real easy on the wallet so I don't have to worry about pulling my hair out every time I drop or scratch it. plus, I can retrofit/modify the crap out of it and if something goes wrong, guess what? ... lol, exactly!
I was using an itaste vv/vw until it grew legs. I dont intend to sink a ton of money into vaping, so I ordered a hades clone. Should be here in a few days.
Clone to give it a try, it it rocks your world then give up the $$$ for the OEM.

I've spent well over $1k USD on authentic mods & atomizers, mostly to support the companies that created them and the fact that the craftsmanship & materials used are far superior (and in some cases, safer). My buddy on the flip side has nothing but clones and he's had issues with every piece he's got. My only complaints are when either of my Tobh Attys or Kayfun Lite Plus' occasionally leak juice.
If things in life were only that simple! As always it depends. A clone can work as good as the original or it can be a piece of junk. Luckily with some research we can get an idea in which direction they will lean.
I prefer to support the original makers of the stuff if everyone bought clones the original makers would go out of business therefore no new mods 
. But I understand not everyone can afford it so it comes down to what you can afford / are willing to pay

Let me ask you this...
If the clone makers were forced out of business can you name a single original maker who could keep up with the demand, or would the rarity of them just push the prices so high that not even you could afford one?
Clones keep mod makers in business. I guarantee you that Atmomixani would never sell as many of their mechs if the clones weren't so popular. Let's face it, most of these originals are sold purely based on the ego of the buyer. "I have a real one and you don't" mentality. It's a way for them to feel special. If you actually compared the mods themselves you couldn't find a single thing that justifies the added price over an Hcigar or EHpro clone.

Clones all the way. I have a hard time paying over $60 for a mod. I drop mine all the time and it's not worth the big $$$ for the real deal.
If there were no clone makers maybe more people would buy originals therefore the genuine makers could expand to push out more product and possibly lower their prices. And I have as serious problem when they make clones and put the same logo, markings, etc on it! How would you feel if you spent let's say a year developing a mod or atty, setup shop to make them, hired employees, etc and all of a sudden some Chinese company BAM! Underselling you on the device you came up with and taking money out of your pocket? Wouldn't be too happy....just saying

Ahh, mass produce, which reduces the quality and thus, reduces the value.
In the end you would be left with mods that are no better than the cheap clones we have now.
If I went through all of the trouble and expense to start a business fabricating mech mods (Or anything else that carried my logo) I would make d@mn sure I had my logo legally registered and trademarked. I could then get legal protection from pirated copies.
But then again we aren't talking about geniuses here, we're talking about a few guys in a small machine shop that figured out how to scam people into paying $200+ for a cheap flashlight.
With authentic mods and rba's you get a sure thing that will work. With clones you may get something just as good or because of qc issues, get a piece of crap. Some my clones are ok to outstanding, most don't get used much, all my authentic gear is fraking great and is used daily.
I would love to buy all authentic mods, and attys however I like to take my vape with me, and one of the places I am at a LOT is work.
I work construction. Things get bumped, banged, scratched, and even sometimes destroyed during a normal day at work for me.
I would cry if I had to spend $100+ dollars every time one of my mods, attys got damaged.
When I retire, and can have them with me but away from the normal rough, and tumble atmosphere of the jobsite I will buy something nice for myself but right now it wouldn't be worth it.
I need something to keep me off the cancer sticks. That is my first priority. It also helps at this point in time to buy cheap since it probably won't last a year if I carry it at work regardless of who actually made it.
I don't need to show them off. I need cheap, and functional (right now).
I have broken the tank on one of my KayFun clones more times than I care to count. Actually switched it out for the stainless center piece to be more durable.
Certainly not the place for a collector's piece.

the chinese factory didnt set up shop, hire people, etc to produce the clones?? and figure the material costs for the clone compared to the real ones... a better grade of SS isnt going to cost 900% more than a lesser grade... pound for pound material wise ( great/medium) the cost is minimal in difference... so why the price difference of 190$ compared to 35$??? and Ill bet the real ones are being made on a CNC machine too...
Just because they start mass producing doesn't mean that quality will fall that assumption is wrong I'm sorry to tell you. And good luck suing some unknown Chinese company that's counterfeiting your stuff lol, what are you going to do? Track down the factory in god knows where, find the operator and staff? Travel to china and sue them?
I like buying the real deal with confidence that It will work as advertised and have the quality I'm expecting.
You can argue all day long on your reasoning of why you think clones are good but that's just your opinion and I'll be sitting here happy with genuine products. Again I don't look down in any way on those who decide to use them - sure, maybe you don't want it messed up at work or maybe you just can't afford it (I was super broke for many years of my life) which is totally cool.
