You are understandably upset, and some people are going to have problems. I had issues with my blood sugar jumping all over the place when I started vaping, but in my case, it could have been from quitting smoking also.

Using your example about Russian Roulette, I would just like to say that I developed a horrible autoimmune disease from pregnancy and have never had a remission. I don't warn others not to have babies.

Your post is good information, and I'm sure it will make others aware if they have the same symptoms.

@NicLiq, A lot of people in the vaping community like to ignore real and potential health issues associated with vaping. I have seen it a million times where someone says X happened to them, and some knothead pipes in and tried to teardown their statements.

Using your pregnancy example: No, you had no way of knowing that before you got pregnant. However, I (and other long term vapers) am telling you that something is not exactly right with certain aspects of vaping. Therefore, you are getting warned.

@garyinco, This is why I don't post on boards. I state facts, and you throw BS flags. Yes, I can stop vaping but that was not the reason to my post. I came here to warn folks that long term vaping does seem to have problems. Don't worry this is my last post ever on this board. I only deal with people that want to have an intelligent adult conversation, and I just

In the past year I've watched many people give up tobacco, including myself. You join this forum a few days ago and bash the whole thing. If it's not for you, so be it. I wish you luck in whatever you try. But when you make comments like "blurred reality" - you've lost all credibility.

Good luck to you. Many thousands of people have quit smoking before there were e-cigs. I hope you can join their ranks.

Ok I have to ask which do you think it is? long term vaping? or something different in the liquid? Because you can't really have it both ways.

Its good that you posted it so if someone else has those symptoms they have an idea of what's going on. It would be imensely more helpful if you investigate further into the exact cause so the vaping community can be informed and if its preventable (aside from quitting vaping) manufacturers (juice makers) can take steps to prevent it and if not people can take appropriate action.

Going back and forth from "its something different in the juice" to "its the effects of long term vaping" makes it appear that you're grasping for answers or trying to spread fear or both.

My :2c:

It's an unexpected allergic reaction. Yes I understand that you have been using the same flavor for over a year, but it can happen. Possibly the liquid, was manufactured, differently from before, possible liquid flavor contamination(it could only be a little drop, but that is enough. Just think of people who are allergic to shellfish, iodine, peanuts will all there warning labels).etc..... Luckily you caught it now cause it may have lead to anaphylactic shock(worse case scenario).
Try vaping with same bottle liquid again. If the systems occur, immediately take Clariton, Zyertex, or Benedryl to see if alleviates your symptoms, if they do, then you are allergic to something in it. I recommend seeing a allergy specialist and getting a allergy workup.

Hope this helps
Bonehead

To avoid immunological memory, I would not advice using that same bottle.
Another bottle of another flavor from another vendor would seem more logical.
(and, at a lower nicotine level)

bornagainst , I am a little surprised someone with a medical background like yourself would confuse an ENT (what the OP saw) with an EMT. An ENT is exactly the medical doctor he should be visiting.

For the record, ENT = Ear, Nose, and Throat specialist. AKA an Otolaryngologist. They are always a medical doctor (MD) with specialized, extensive training in those areas.

jejs99, I do hope you feel better- the vagus nerve absolutely can become sensitized / irritated and affect lots of other areas and could explain your difficulties.

You're generalizing your own experience to say that "...long term vaping does seem to have problems." I appreciate that you've shared your experience, but the problem is your making generalized statements using an N of 1. I can appreciate your struggle and am sorry for your difficult experience, but you have to understand why people are getting knitpicky about your statements; because based on your own personal experience you are claiming to have "facts" and evidence of an inevitable threat. Also... you didn't exactly help your credibility or your image with your "genius" post as your 2nd comment on the forum.

I'm going to call "not troll" based on the brandnames they dropped re: hardware and juice. It seems like one person is having a health problem related to vaping, which is very unfortunate, but certainly doesn't mean no one should ever vape. I'm severely allergic to pot (found out thanks to being drugged with it against my knowledge and ended up in the ER unable to breathe!) and even several prescription pain meds, but obviously I don't advocate that no one should EVER use pot or tylenol or demerol or whatever. ;)

Using this forum as a large sample, I've seen a very small number of users have so many health problems they had to quit, and a very large number either have no problems or else were able to fix whatever problems they had that were triggered by vaping. The hostility the OP is showing is definitely not helping their case, but I guess I can understand it.

Best of luck recovering.

Sorry to hear about your experience...think a lot of us former smokers get uneasy when we hear that the wonderful alternative we have found has the potential to cause problems, and then react to hearing it. I know how happy I was to find vaping and e cigs out there, and frankly I know I'd be still doing analogues if I didn't find this alternative, so Im hoping like crazy I can continue with it. Yes, we do need to hear about these problems, because vaping is such a new thing that all input good or bad is valuable. Hope you get better and things work out for you. I for example, am one of the few people I know who is allergic to tons of helpful meds, yet other people take them like candy and wonder why I can't...guess YMMV is the best answer.

I think it is good to post and see if others have had similar problems but to post in the new members section and scare new users or people thinking about vaping isn't the best place. I think to blame the symptoms on vaping is just a guess and also a bit premature.

Yeah, but Tx, he can't post anywhere else yet if he's new to ECF,can he? Agree it's not the best place, but Ive just become a full member myself, and I don't know enough to say if he could post it anywhere else...guess that's why we need the vets...
