So if I understand correctly if I want to use
nic salts I need 12mg if I use 6mg normal nic?
No. The benefits from using nic salt is that in a LOW power device you can use HIGH nic levels with salts. If you're
vaping at anything above 10 or 15 watts, high nic levels, salts or otherwise, are not recommended. At the levels you're working with, there isn't much difference. I personally vape DL at around 50 to 60 watts and my nic level is 6mg. I also make my own juice and did use salt nic for a while. At 6mg/ml, i couldn't tell a difference. On a whim, I made a batch and went to 10mg/ml with salts. At 65watts, it was anything but smooth. This is due to the wattage and not the nicotine formula per se. Too much hoo-ha has been made over the last couple years regarding salt nic. A common misconception is that x- device is made for regular nic and y- device is made for nic salt. You can use salt nic as high as 60mg/ml but it better be in a LOW power device. I wouldn't worry so much about this issue, you are still trying to learn to vape. And coughing is kinda normal at first. The first time I tried
vaping, I practically coughed up my nuts. I was thinking how the hell can anyone do this. And that was even with a low power MTL device. Vaporized PG and VG is NOT smoke, doesn't feel like smoke and wont hurt you like smoke. But, its foreign at first. It took me about a month or two before I was ready to move to DL. Some people dont make that progression to DL and are quite happy to do MTL. It's simply a matter of personal choice.
