Hi everyone. I am really new to ecigs and been buying a few bits from a company local to me and online Storm Eliquid in Wigan, I've just signed up to their discount club which seems cheap enough and I like their eliquid it seems well priced.

But I want to know how I get into making my own equipment I seem to go through the cartomiser things really quick they only seem to last a week or so. Can anyone help.

Thank you all in advance. I want to make ecigs as cheap as possible for me so any advice would be great

Welcome to vaping. I'm fairly new (three months) myself, but, I am a gearhead and I bought everything under the sun. I settled and focused on the Kanger products because their stuff like the Pro-Tanks and the Evods all use the same rebuildable coils. I can now make a new coil and or re-wick cotton or whatever almost in my sleep. There are a few really good Youtube videos (and some bad ones) but they make it all make sense. It's not scarey to make your own coils and then you are in control. I wish You luck. Shout if you have trouble with anything specific.

If your atomizers dont seem to last it may be the juice. Dark/sweet ejuice seem to trash atomizers quickly for me.
I rinse and dryburn my attys every couple of tankfuls but I vape mostly clear juices. Coffee and cake flavors seem to require more care for me whereas a licorice flavor (clear liquid) of mine seems to only require atty maintenance ever half dozen fills or so.

My coils seem to last a long time tho. Weeks to months on the same ones (Kanger evod as most of my tanks take the same type of replaceable coil).

That's about what I get with a clearomizer. And at only $2 each I have no desire to go anywhere near a screwdriver, hammer or chainsaw to rebuild anything related to vaping.

Welcome BTW!

rebuilding is not scary...i am not a mechanic or an electrician and i have no problems if you can twist a coil and roll cotton you are pretty much done. I love the big hits off a dripper... puffing on a clearo is okay when i am driving or sneaking a toke here or there. But when i really want to get a hit nothing beats dripping.

Some idea on rebuilding coils? how do you do that and what do you need?

Youtube has a bunch of tutorials, but what you need is:

Kanthal Wire between 28-32 gauge
Wick material: silica, cotton or ekowool
something to wrap the wire on like a paperclip or needle

Look on youtube for exact steps, but this is the basic stuff you need

rebuilding a protank or evod coil takes about 3 minutes :D
Opening the package containing a new one takes 3 seconds. :D

Nope. Even though I like saving a buck, my hobby days are over I'm afraid. I can get vaping down to less than $65 a month and that's quite a feat considering what I spent on analogs. You guys knock yourselves out!

While the stock heads are pretty cheap, making a micro coil with cotton tastes A LOT better IMO. That's the main reason I do it.

Welcome deejuk,

You supplier looks to have good prices. If you want to cut costs down to the minimum, you'll want to learn to re-build your atomizers and make your own liquid.

When you say "cartomisers" do you mean the slim metal tube cartridges with filler? or the clear tank (plastic/pyrex) type with a wick atomiser?

Also an ohm meter, you know. And an understanding of battery safety.

If you want incredible value, buy a Kafun or Taifun clone and enjoy an awesome vape without having to rebuild every few days.

I find these big atomizers easier to build than fixing up a new coil on a Kanger tank.

As of tomorrow, I am giving up on Kanger clearomisers after 16 months. I was only getting 4-5 days on average.

Going 100% Innokin for use@work vaping kit.
