Hey everyone,

This ecig business seems like rocket science I've just ordered my first 'hydro' ecig as it was the only supplier I could find in Australia that sells actual nicotine cartridges or cartomisers - I haven't worked out the difference between the two.

The hydro kit was really cheap compared to others I viewed and that concerned me.

Basically I want a quality product with as little messing around as possible with liquids etc...can anyone help me out with suggestions???

well cartridges have a atomizer and a cap with usually polyfill or cotton that holds the liquid and releases it on the atomizer. they are usually the smallest capacity for the juice that is out there.

cartomizers are a one piece version of cartridges and usually hold more liquid so a little less time spent refilling. now these can come in various styles from cotton/silica wicks to the same style polyfill/cotton for holding the liquid.

i personally hated cartridges which is all that was really available when i first started vaping, love cartomizers or clearomizers(see thru plastic versions).

then lastly depending on the size of you ecig(large batteries, usually similar in size to a sharpie, the most common of the smaller bigger ones is the ego/kgo) there are tank setups that have the maximum storage capacity anywhere from 3.5ml's to 7ml's+, these can offer vaping all day with out refilling for many people

also the bigger the battery and the more mah it has, the longer it will last between charges.

Cheers!!

The one I ordered comes with cartridges, based on your review I think I'll investigate further a cartomiser ecig with a big battery?!?

Cartridges seem easier though, and less messy? But more expensive thru this company - $24 for 5 cartridges.

Hi and welcome. There is a learning curve, but it gets easier. Just keep posting questions and folks will answer.

ECF has an Australia/New Zealand forum (Australia - New Zealand Forum) where you can get specific answers about what's a round you. Not sure how many posts you need (I think 5).

Thanks, I had a look over at the Aus/nz forum but it didn't seem too active. Nicotine based products are supposed to be illegal to sell here but I found luck with this 'hydro' brand. I need a one stop shop for everything but not sure if that's possible. A lot more organization goes into this as opposed to buying a packet of smokes!

Hi Fithflo and Welcome to ECF,
Is this what you have or are ordering?
Products Au | Hydro

You can do better with these sites:
electronic cigarettes starter kits from eVape
Electronic Cigarettes - Ecigswarehouse - E.W.A
eCig | Electronic Cigarettes | e-Cig Accessories | eJuice Australia

Are you looking for a cig a like version or will ego type batteries be fine?

You can get Juice in Australia. The three sites mentioned all have stock and some really good juices.:)

*edit* For Nic you need to import. You are allowed to import nicotine liquid for your own personal use, you may Not sell it. Apologies. We have a few Kiwis and Aussies here, I'm sure they will chime in and help you when they are online.:)

Thanks for the info, yes thats the hydro ecig i purchased. I want something that's like a cigarette for when I go out but something bulkier for at home is fine.

I couldn't find nicotine juices on any of those sites my understanding is that it's illegal to sell them here the other Aussie sites I've visited redirect me to nz suppliers???

Yip, and the NZ suppliers direct you to USA sites.
It seems your best bet would be to import your juices from the US.
Although you'd have to shop around for the cheapest shipping costs.
On the other hand you could join the classifieds and PIF forums and get help from members that way?
Ultimately, it would still be cheaper for you to import juice than use the Hydro. I think:blink:
But it's up to you to do what's most convenient for you.:)

right, I live in USA and sometimes don't realize how lucky I am and how unfortunate it is for others that they cannot get ecig supplies here.
Cartridges were expensive for me, pretty much the same price as smoking.
Cartos were less expensive but still went through them like crazy.
So I switched to a wick tank (vivi nova) and that's been pretty cheap. I like wicks, too, and the vape I get from it.
hope this helps.
