I've found that rows of three = fleas....they tend to start in a spot and leave a line of destruction. (unfortunately I had a roommate with a dog and found out very quickly that fleas suck after cleaning out her room and infecting my space because I didn't know she had a flea problem)

If you do find out it's fleas...I used borax and vaccuumed at least once a week after putting it down on the carpet. Unfortunately the life span is like 4 months from egg to adult so it's a lengthy process.

Anyone that has pets can have fleas and I use orthomax home defense. When we moved into our house 2 years ago the people next to us had OMG like 6 little dogs 1 Rottie and 7 puppies in the front yard, and 7 or 8 Boxers in the back. I had never seen someone have so many freaking animals at one time (and I don't think they were the best at takin care of them all). Anyway that summer my house was just totally infested with fleas, they didnt get on my pets because they were treated now my kids were just absolutely covered in bites. After trying everything from 7 dust and salt in the carpets, vacuuming constantly, none of that was really working. I picked up the orthomax and used it, all around the baseboards and carpet, it keeps flea's and other bugs down for up to a year. So now 1xs a year I use it so I don't have to deal with that anymore. It doesnt have a strong smell, and what smell it does give off doesnt stay around. So glad those people moved too bad the people that replaced them have 5 wiennie dogs, and yes 5 little wiennies make more noise then 20+ others.

Definitely bug bite of some kind. I don't think it's spider because spider bites usually have a small puss center. Possible flea, bedbug or something along those lines.

For sure fleas not anything to mess around with, don't try to save money with bombs and sprays, check with a Vet to get recommended applications. Does no good to bathe the cat or dog's fleas away or put on a flea collar when your carpet or your bed is full of them, and yes, they do love people's blood as well. Put out a shallow of water on the floor (a couple drops of dish soap in it so they can't get out) with a light shining on it, and see what you have in the morning. Will tell you exactly how bad the infestation is, whether it's fleas, bed bugs, or other. This is scarey stuff, especially if you have little kids. Yes they do transmit disease to humans as well.
Make sure to read the labels of your chemical bottles, this is something that must be repeated in a timely way to kill every succeeding generation.
Fleas are the scourge of the earth, and the epitome of survival through Millennium!

My cat gets fleas off and on, but I've never been bitten by one thank GAHHD! But if you found a large assortment of bugs in your mattress like you say you did you really need to take care of that, it's not healthy.

As for a possible link to vaping- hiiighly doubt it only because of the rows of 3, like other users have posted already. Hives don't break out in patterns like that usually. I think it's safe to say it is not the vaping causing this, however, there is always that tiny little microscopic "well I'll be damned" chance that it is. But like I said, HIGHLY doubt it! :)

Good luck and I hope you get this insect issue resolved, I'd be losing my mind if I were you!

looks like chigger bites to me, but knowing you have a general bug infestation, I suggest you bomb ur house with flea/roach killer and try to get new beds n such from craigslist for cheap. vacumm twice a day or more for 2 weeks after bombing and make sure no kids come in the house until the infestation is gone. get rid of anything and everything you dont NEED and pick up ur wants as u can afford. Health first, stuff is replaceable. Roaches carry more diseases than listed on CDC and knowing someone who got an infection from a roach going in her ear in her sleep, Ill tell ya that she went thru hell, lost hearing in one side and almost her sight from it....

I will also add that I've noticed that when I used to smoke it was like a natural bug deterrent. Mosquitos, spiders, most bugs didn't bother me too much. But now that I'm vaping I think they love the PG/VG mix that I must be sweating when outside doing yard work. I've never been attacked so much in my life and no smoke to keep them away. I'd invest in some good bug spray for outside and get your house sprayed or fumigated.

Yeah, the bugs are loving me this year too. I've never had bugs on me like I have this summer. I think I only had a couple of mosquito bites in years past, but now my legs look like I've been doing jumping jacks over barbed wire.
