Its also an anti-troll measure...makes it a little more involved for those who want to sign up just to flame a vendor or member...or a forum for that matter.

Its actually pretty funny to get bent about it...I come in here to see if I can answer/help and looking at the responses I see plenty of seasoned pro's too. Its actually easier than having to dig out the right thread...

I still remember signing up and being like "why can't I post on the XXX forums that is where I want to ask a question". A little bit of impatience is made up for not having all the trash posts that are around in other places.

The 5 posts are nothing when you have a question, ask it and start seeing a bunch of nice people responding to your posts real quick. Those 5 posts are easily done with in a day.

Glad I suffered through the Why can't I post blues and found a home here.

And for being a noob who learned stuck with the learning curve and listened to the folks here it gives a nice feeling to be able to answer newer noobs. Who they in turn will pass on their knowledge when they have a few more charges on their batteries

Gosh, I think I made around 10 posts my first day here. With my big mouth, it wasn't hard at all.

10 posts in a day is pretty impressive typing with your lips. :O

I wanted to ask a specific question in the proper forum but I have to make 5 posts here first, Really!!!, 5 post's. I can understand making 1 post here as an additional anti spam measure to the e mail verification.
I'll find another forum.

41 posts for someone that said they were finding another forum...move on please.
