Well, considering the fact that you are on a regulated mod, that can save your .... on a lot of the safety issues (note that I'm not saying to ignore safety altogether)

You can probably forgo the DMM for now, as your mod will give you the resistance of the build, and will not fire in the event of a short.
I would assume that you are using decent batteries... if you went authentic, I also assume that you are using the batteries recommended by Hanna Modz.
Check out
The Steam Engine. It'll give you a lot of good info on how many wraps you need for a given resistance. There is also an Ohm's Law calculator there.
I would suggest picking up a cheap RDA... an Igo or whatever floats your boat. It'll have plenty of room for learning how to wrap and mount a coil. Try to aim for 1.5 to 2 ohms to start with... either single or dual coil.. dealer's choice.
Then you'll want to wick the coil. Cotton, ekowool, rayon... again, dealer's choice.
Don't worry too much about F'in things up. You've got a good base to learn on, and it'll save your .... for you during the learning process. And if any of this doesn't make sense, we're here to help.
