I did some reading and watching tutorials on this and thought it looks easy enough so I had a go.
I did it step by step using 3mm silica and 0.2 wire.
When I put the finished product in the vamo to check the ohms rather than the 2.2 ohms people say having wrapped it 4 times I got 0.4 ohms.
Ive tried it a few times but keep getting the same result.
Why would this happen?

Why would this happen?

Your positive lead is making contact with the coil body somewhere, causing a short. That leg should drop down between the insulator and the positive post. If it touches the side of the coil on the way down (REALLY easy to do)....the coil is being bypassed and the positive post on your Vamo is connected directly to your ground.
