rebuilt sub tank coils

I have been playing around with sub tank coils for a while now and am still having issues with wicking. The newest coil is 26 g kanthal 5 wraps 3mm id. Any suggestions or is it all trial and error

Should mention I'm using bacon cotton. And pretty much following the rip trippers video. Coil sits around 1 ohm

for me it was just trial and error until I found what works best for me. it will vary depending on the juice.you are using and personal taste. my tanks still leak sometimes when they are not handled gently but I use a high PG juice which is a little thinner than what most people here use.but every situation is unique so you just need to keep trying different things until you find what works best for you

Any info would be helpful here as well. Girlfriend just got me a subtank mini the other day...waiting by the mailbox for some kanthal and cotton to try it out. This will be my first time building/rebuilding, so I plan on doing some more reading and digging through videos before I jump into it. But any other tried and true tricks/tips are much appreciated.

Are you guys rebuilding the occ coils or the rba section?

RBA. Seems to taste better to me. Just did a 28g kanthal, 3mm, 7 wraps with Japanese cotton. Came out to about 1.6ohms. Vapor is denser and more flavorful than the 1.2ohm occ.

The occ. Rba doesn't flow enough for me. Maybe if i dremmel the holes

Maybe too much cotton? My RBA seems to flow the same or better than the OCCs.

I dremeled my chimney up by juice holes and it works great

Dremel out and u will never get another dry hit I make wick pretty tight and make sure to push it away from opening so juice can flow in easy I can't post pictures they are too large will keep trying

I tried every possible combination of wick type and tension and got nothing but dry hits rebuilding the OCC heads. Then I tried a vertical coil and that seems to work much better, but still a work in progress.

I used a piece of KGD that was 1/2" wide that was 1 1/2" long. Wet the cotton for an adhesive of sorts, made sure I wrapped under the top leg and on the next 2 wraps covered it.

It took me forever to get my way of doing it down pat. Patience, trial and error is all I can really say with any real substance on the subject. Good luck, you'll make it work!

I drilled a hole in the side of the rba chimney. The juice channels are too small on a lot of them and don't allow proper wicking.
