and hooked it up to the Enercell from Radio Shack. I experiemented with the various voltages and confirmed that, for me, 5v is the perfect vap.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my SB, but the BB at 5v is very smooth and the flavor comes through just right. I am actually surprised at the smoothness of the vapor.

Great job Chad and Rob. Once again, AltSmoke has out done yourselves and provided me with a great PV. This will stay with me at my desk as my all day vaping device. But the SB will not be far from hand.

Are you going to make the bottom tubes available again any time soon. I may want to get one if the protected CR2s ever become a reality.

Last I heard about the protected CR2's is that they're having issues on getting them to not trip on the 510. It's been a work in progress since about 6 months ago and still having the same issues. Hopefully it gets resolved before the projects gets trashed :(

Who is "they"? How come Chad can't make some batteries?

I tried comming up with an alternative power source.... just could not figure out how to keep people from getting blisters doing it. :p

How about a "dial-a-resistance"? Ideally a ring with graduation marks on it. Maybe +0.5 ohms for each tick mark. For the OMeGa you could just twist the top. THAT would surely put you over the top in the mod world.

If that can't happen I suppose I could live with a handful of atomizer adapters with different resistances.

I've only tried 510s (couple different types) and 901s. Never tried a cartomizer but I'm thinking I like the 3 piece solution. I don't think I care what atomizer it is... I'm just looking for around 10 watts. The 901s do draw differently but I can adjust to that. 801 looks like it would do the trick. Do they tend to last longer?

ok... electrician I am not.

Those green protected 3v are 600mah
We're going to be using 2 of them in series
let's say an 801 is 3 ohm (and a KR808D is 3.5 ohm)

That 801 is going to be drawing about 2Amps at 6v
If those charge up to about 3.5v we're talking about 2.3Amps at 7v

Is the mah added when you stack them? (If that's true I assume you add the max discharge rate for the stacked, 2-battery system).
I'd only expect them to last maybe an hour or probably 2 with constant vaping? (about 1/2 hr if you -theoretically- held the button down the whole time).

My unprotected green ultrafires charge to 3.3v. That gives 6.5v at the adapter, but only 5.2v under load (2.3ohm 510) on the BB.

I think stock KR8s are usually 3ohm and 801s 3.5ohm.

The mah is not added when stacking batts. You get the *true* mah of the weaker battery. I got about 3-4 hours from the unprotected 800mah cr2s with a KR8 cartomizer - when they were new. That has fallen off, so it's time to replace them. I expect to get around 2-3 hours from the 600mah protected ones.

Hope this helps.

Yea, that helps a lot. Now... where do you get a decent charger for these things?

Mark has a call into the mfg to get the max discharge rate for them. Since we need about 2A I'm assuming a max discharge rate >= 1A should be plenty (I did notice that those lifepo4's had a max discharge rate <= 550mA)

I plan to try and use the one that I have for the unprotected ones from DX.

Seems like Mark could get a charger from the same place he's getting the batts, or his supplier could at least point him/us to one
