Receiving weird looks when vaping in public

Today I took my 510 to the city with me for the first time, was walking around downtown happily vaping here and there... The looks I got from other people was outrageous!!!! I wonder what they were thinking I was smoking? Took my 510 to the club last night also, everybody was asking about it... I wasn't vaping indoors but I was out with the smokers and they got a total kick out of it.. Anybody else get weird reactions from people?

Yeah, it's pretty fun when you want to chat with random people. But it's kind of a pain in the .... when you just want to be on your way.

I've found myself stealth vaping in public just so i don't have to answer the same questions over and over.

Hardly anyone here in OK as even heard of e cigs, so I can just imagine what they are thinking! One lady's jaw dropped when she was me vaping...course I put it in my pocket afterward and I KNOW that blew her mind! I have a black Eluma that I take everywhere, but do tend to be stealthy just so I don't cause a ruckus at my office, in stores, or restaurants.

Day 23 without an analog after a 25 year, pack a day habit - feeling fantastic too! I'll take the stares and open jaws any day over those nasty analogs!

You are going to get weird reactions simply because people tend to react negatively to anything that is different. Nothing can change that except knowledge. Just adjust you're behavior in accordance with what you know muggles will be able to handle.

Yup, people get real weirded out when I puff away then just stick it in my pocket lol! I have started stealth vaping a bit more though so I don't have to answer all the questions, non-smokers seem to think you're nuts and smokers either immediately figure it's not the same and scoff at it or they have a million questions, I have been writing the forum addresss and a few canadian websites on cards and now just give them to people who are interested so they can check it out saves me time! and I don't have to answer questions a million times!

Before I had every heard of ecigs, I was on the road and the driver next to me was puffing on something with a blue light on the end of it. Freaked me out, I was sure he was doing something 'illegal' and I didn't want to be on the road with him I stayed far away from him. I try to not call attention to vaping with other drivers cause I don't want someone to have an accident looking or trying to avoid me.
