Just curious, what do you test a new recipe on? Do you use the mod/tank that you normally vape on or a unique testing platform like a dripper? I've got a serious load of new flavors en-route and will be doing a whole lot of experimentation in the coming weeks. I guess I'm looking for the most efficient way to take that first taste and not waste alot of time and materials. :)

I use a dripper. Sample a flavor, switch to plain VG to clear the flavor, sample another flavor, etc.

If the flavor is really persistent I just rewick.

Full on recipes are probably best tested with the equipment with which you would normally vape. But once you know your equipment really well, you know how much your tank will affect the flavor compared to something else.

Igo L is a cheap simple single coil rda for testing. The vape shop I frequented as a new vaper used them with a stove top coil to test juices.

Slap a piece of cotton underneath and test away. Remove cotton, dry burn, add new cotton and you are ready to test the next flavor. There are also wickless coil builds that lend well towards testing.

I use my regular setup. It always sucks when you get something nasty and have to rewick.

Is there one in particular I can plop on top of a VW mod that lends itself to the testing task

For among the best flavor for RDA's: Magma characteristics at high ohms: good flavor, easy build single coil-2 post design, deep well, 510 drip tip. I have 3 clones.
Others to consider:
IGO-L
NarDA
Tsunami
Stumpy
Wish I could own them all.

Seems the drippers are the method of choice. Is there one in particular I can plop on top of a VW mod that lends itself to the testing task? Looked at the HH 357 but the tech is totally new to me. Wouldn't even know what to buy with it lol. Thanks in advance for any tips :)

I use the igo-l it has a nice lip around the base which holds more juice then most other drippers and there small in size.

Been using an Igo-L from day one and have found no reason to change. Re-wicking takes tops 2 minutes.

Same here. I bought a wide bore jade drip tip from FT. It looks great on top of my iStick and Clouper Mini+.

I've only just begun but I've mixed about 20 recipies, be it recipies that I found or ones that I just mixed together. I gotta say I'm super happy with my results, I use a dripper, same dripper I use on most of my squonkers in my daily rotatiom, but I use a non bottom fed version ( of a vector) on a XXIX, tube mod, and drip intonit, clear the flavors with vg and test next flavor. ..rinse repeat. .

I will say that I think a drip tip has a lot to do with your results. [removed] I like a smaller bore, because it concentrates the vapor and makes the flavor stand out more. That has been my experience since day one, original Kayfun days, I was rocking a genny with a wide bore tip and then I got a kayfun, "wow that's got great flavor" duh, it's also got a small bore tip.... not saying that's the end all, but I do think it makes a difference.
