Apparently it is so. Excited to see the section, but feeling a little stupid for suggesting there be one in another thread, since it didn't show up on the main page I never saw it.

I was poking around the internets, wandered across a forum with a similar name and came upon a comment that basically went something along the lines of DIY is not careful, my liquids contain more ingredients(6 I believe) some of which reduce residue on the atty etc. I was wondering if anybody here knew these ingredients, maybe there are ingredients for making better throat hit etc(other than just alcohol and nic)

My second question was sweetners, i see people using ethyl malitol, but also some sites are selling sucralose and another sweetner I forget now. What do you folks recommend?
my order of flavors and bases arrive tommorow:)

I never got stevia quite right so it tasted like wet dog, so I use Lorann's cotton candy. Seems to work ok.

I've seen this mentioned a few times.

Does the cotton candy act more like a general sweetner for any type of flavor?

Does it have a cotton candy taste that will mix in with other flavors?

I'm mainly interested in this cause I find the coffee flavors i try (LorAnn and capella) seem to be quite bitter. But I don't want Coffee/cottoncandy. Just a more sweet coffee taste.

Ok, but no idea on what these other mystery ingredients are used for reducing residue and so forth?
How much sucralose do you use when you mix it up, I would rather avoid whatever bulking agents are in splenda, do you buy it directly from somewhere?
What about the health concerns I've read about sucralose, is it any better or worse than ethy malitol?

If a caramel-ish note would help the flavor I use Ethyl Maltol. If it needs a pure sweetness a drop of liquid splenda works. I avoid Stevia. To me it makes the mix taste like burnt hay. Ick! But other people really like it.

The only way to find what works for you is to try it. Get a bit of each and see how they do for you.

:)
