I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

A bit off topic here, but I had an idea for a way to perhaps repay some of the enormous favours I have recieved in the short time I have been here. I am a mechanic. I fix therefore I am. Now that I am a wannabe vaper, I check in here a couple of times a day and I would be more than happy to offer my modest skills to anyone who needs a bit of advice with their car, truck, boat, lawnmower, mother-in-law etc. Well, maybe not the mother-in-law -- unless you actually want a divorce... Perhaps I could help save you a few bucks by helping you with something you could do yourself? Or review a quote for a repair? Maybe you need to know about maintenance or service intervals? Just about anything for anything wiith an engine of any kind as I have a broad experience with myriad machines . I even have some minor experience with broads, but then again I'll leave that sort of advice to the more well adjusted among us. ;)

So if your car wont start when you desperately need to go get a gallon of juice, or your weedeater isn't cutting it and your yard more resembles the jungles of Borneo, just PM me and we'll talk. I should be able to steer you right.

Cheers!

What a fantastic idea, TrueNorthist!! I, too, am deeply indebted to many members here for putting up with my various 'help!'s' I cannot offer any mechanical experience (this much should be painfully obvious to anyone who has read my posts!) but I have worked for a few years in the insurance adjusting business. While I would be unable to answer specific questions, should you find yourself in the very unfortunate position of having a tree fall on your house, have your hot water tank blow and spew 40 gallons of water throughout your house, etc. etc. and you are finding the whole insurance procedure confusing, I might be able to help you understand the process involved.

Again, great idea, TrueNorthist!

Hey FisherPal. How did you know exactly what happened to my house 2 years ago? lol Maybe not exactly. We had some very high water in the river due to a torrential rainfall and had a lot of water damage. We were well taken care of by our local agent and all was right as rain within days, but should something similar occur I shall seek you out!

Thank you!

Ah yes ... 2 yrs ago. An interesting winter for sure. :) Glad to hear that things went smoothly for you. Again, most people in all the areas involved really do try their best. It just gets a tad hairy when hundreds of claims come rolling in all at the same time!

Ever seen Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? The scene near the end on the new earth and the survivors that crashed there? Yep. That'll be us.

That is a very interesting and generous offer! I've been thinking these past few days about how great it would be to have a "Canadian Lounge" section, just to shoot the breeze and talk about non-vaping related stuff without upsetting certain individuals :)
thats a fun idea

Go start a thread. There is also a section of the forum that is a little less monitored so the language is sometimes quite lively.
