Recommend an e-cig for complete newbie

Hello everyone, I am completely new to e-cigs and even smoking! I've read quite a few posts and guides on this forum but all the information is simply overwhelming! I'll continue reading and researching, but if anybody could help me out or recommend an e-cig brand for a beginner such as myself I would really appreciate that.

So here's my info: I'm in the UK and I had my first cigarette at a New Year's Eve party 2 weeks ago (or 1.5?) It was a bit weird, but I wanted to try it again and since then I've had about 7 or so more real cigarettes. However I'm concerned about my health and don't want to cause damage, which is why I've been attracted to e-cigs. Because I've not been a regular smoker, I guess this means certain considerations about what e-cig and juice that would be right for me don't matter too much. For example, I don't care if it looks like or tastes like a real cigarette. I don't have any cravings that I need to control. I just want to experiment and have some fun (and possibly de-stress about my impending exams!) without damaging my health! Even though I'm not addicted and so don't NEED high nic juice, I don't want to start on "light/cutting down" stuff as I'm doing this for a reason.. to try nicotine for fun :p

One other consideration I have is safety. I'm guessing people on this forum will tell me e-cigs are safe, but I've heard about things such as nicotine overdosing and the like. Is this a real concern and are there any e-cigs that prevent that?

So with this in mind, if anybody can give me some pointers on what e-cig and juice to try, I'd appreciate it. :) Thank you.

State--you may want to look in the ECF Approved Suppliers forum here: ECF Approved Suppliers - E-Cigarette Forum

Under each supplier is the location they are out of--you may want to look for a UK based supplier since that is where you are at. All suppliers listed on this forum are legit quality suppliers.

Good luck!

I believe in them to reduce harm from years of smoking real cigarettes for people who are addicted and cant get away from smoking and killing themselves.

I dont know if they are actually safe , but I know they must be safer than smoking.

Be careful, its your life we are talking about, I dont recommend starting a habit that may become harmful to you later.
It is your choice, but if I knew then, what I know now, I would never inhale anything other than air. Just my opinion of course, Im surprised people here are helping you to start vaping actually.

Nicotine is so toxic and poisonous that one drop of pure nic dropped on the skin will more than likely cause death.

It's touching you care so much about my health, but wow. You're using the very scare tactics that people who want to ban e-cigs are using. I wasn't expecting this at all on a forum for e-cig users. Pure alcohol is pretty toxic and poisonous too but I've drank plenty of beers without death.

Nicotine inhaled is absorbed in very small quantities - most is exhaled with the vapor, just like beer is imbibed with small alcohol quantities.

If you really want to try it so bad and not listen to what others say about smoking or vaping then try some 6mg carts from vapor4life but even a basic kit will run ya about $40 and $7 for shipping and lets say another $10 for some carts . do you really want to spend that much on trying something like this when you really are not even a smoker ?

I think what everyone is pretty much trying to say is that you wouldn't want to take a Lortab if you weren't in pain because you might get addicted to something that you don't need that can cause your body harm. This is the same way. There is not enough studies and definately not enough years of experience to see what vaping does long term to determine the health benefits of vaping versus smoking but common sense will tell anyone that it has to be better than smoking. We all wish we would have listened to the warnings before we started smoking but we didn't so we feel it is our responsibility to try to talk you out of not starting even though we know that we will have about as much success with you as everyone did with us. With that said, it's your body and your life and if you are going to do one or the other, you might as well vape instead of smoke due to the common sense theory I mentioned above. Nicotine can have some beneficial side effects if you need them but so can Lortab when you're actually in pain. That doesn't mean that you need to take them when you're not in pain. That's why everyone including me is recommending the 0 nicotine juice if you do decide to pick up the habit.

I thought that you guys believed e-cigarettes are healthy and safe? Is that not the case?

For someone already addicted to nicotine they seem to be much healthier and safer than cigarettes. But what we don't understand is why you want to go get addicted to nicotine? Nicotine is, as mentioned above, a poison. It may have some beneficial side effects (for instance, they are studying it in realtion to altheimers because it looks as if it might be beneficial there). But many medicines are poisons if misused.

If you aren't used to it you could get an overdose more easily than a smoker who has higher tolerance. If you insist and just like the idea of smoking, use the 0 nic. Turning yourself into an addict for fun isn't cool.

Prehoda is exactly right, you seem to think smoking is glamorous, 'for show' kind of thing.
That's what I thought too, 44 years ago, and after smoking enough cigarettes for buy a really nice 4 bedroom house for cash, the e-cig has saved my life. At almost 63 years of age it finally took a miracle to rid myself of smoke pollution.

State, if you are detimined to start smoking or vaping it is your choice.

Vaping is much better than smoking and more enjoyable.

Try some 0 nic juice or at the very most 6mg juice.
I would rather see you start up vaping, than start up smoking any day.

Beer/drinking will in time kill you too just as cigarettes will.
If you are young and healthy, hang on to that as long as you can.

BTW, I also no longer drink, I quit in 1991 but the cigarettes I was never able to quit
until I found e-cigs. I was anle to quit with e-cigs in just one week after 36 years of smoking.

Good luck to you in whatever choice you make.
